It was not that good, but the plot made it much better!

Starlight This was a nice read. Easy to get through, and I definitely enjoyed Alex! Had a few giggle moments. This wasn’t super spicy, but overall, the story was good.

1.5

3 stars out of 5 brilliant stars -I immensely enjoyed the book because the banters between the characters were quite hilarious and very entertaining. - It was a steamy slow-burned romance y'all, hence I did enjoyed it. The intimate part was quite entertaining, hot and very sexy. The characters evolvement were not quite the satisfaction. Also, it has the elements of drugs and mental issues which should not be patronized or tolerated. - I admit, I did skimmed almost everything whilst reading it because of the way it was written. I didn't actually like the writing style of the author, however, it didn't change my appreciation of the book as a whole. - The climax - i mean the confrontation and revelation of the story felt rushed and lacks further explanation. Also, the story ended just the same - atleast to me. I didn't feel anything, connections or whatsoever, it felt flat. - Overall, I genuinely enjoyed the story. The combination of playlist, plot walks, and the lyrical prose added more seasons to make it more enjoyable.

im sorry but that cover model? im swooning.

Follow the little bird and you'll miss the Phoenix. Drugs, alcohol and...a rockstar's life. He was lost in his own mind, own feelings, but she fought in order to find him again. She should have taken care of his mental health through one of his most important tours around the world. But what can you do when your tiny heart is stubborn and thinks that it will resist three months without letting herself feel anything. His muse, their moments and most of all, their hallways. Somehow that place is always their safe place. But what would happen when she finally falls and accepts to be with him for those last months. Then, we'll go back to our real lives, right? they said. It should have been easier, but they didn't know that they'd change one another without a way back. What would you prefer? A story for the girls' night out or a love that will last a life?

im sorry but that cover model? im swooning.

I received an ARC of this book from the author and I voluntarily reviewed it. Thank you LJ Shen! I have to admit, the rock star romance trope is often used, and often leaves me disappointed; leaves me craving something real, and not superficial. This book, however, was so much more than just a rock star romance. It was a story about addiction, about lies, about love, and about healing. This book popped my LJ Shen cherry. *collective gasp* The first thing that hit me, was her mastery of the English language. Perfectly formed metaphors flowed from page to page in a mellifluous current of words. I was in awe of her poetic side. Her references to Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince were a perfect companion to the story. The references happening throughout the book really cemented the importance of this work for the characters, and contributed to the unity to the story. Shen’s characters are complex, layered, and REAL. They don’t plan to fall for each other; their soul purpose is not to simply be together. They are struggling people, with a broken past, trying not to drown. This was not insta-love for the characters or the readers. You willingly succumb to the darkness that is Alex Winslow. I cannot end this review without mentioning the songs. The songs that made my heartbeat quicken without even hearing the melody. The ones that gave me chills, without hearing the voice singing them. The ones I wish existed. Thank you, LJ Shen, for your gift to the book world, which is this book.

4.5 stars – Oh. My. God. That last 20% pretty much KILLED me. This was such a wild ride of a read. Review to come! Thanks to the author for generously providing me an ARC to review.

Me, starting this book earlier: Oh, I’ll just listen to it for a few hours and get back to everything I need to turn in this week. Me, at 11:30pm: Okay, so I lied. In all fairness – this book was a fantastic distraction.
