As Morgan's operatives work to get the team out of danger, each couple will find their limits tested.

A great end to a series and a fun ride to see how each couple finally finds their way to happiness. I was so pleased Kennedy followed through on Liam and Sully's relationship and gave it a nice amount of time. Super steamy read.

Anybody who has been reading the Killer Instinct series is going to love this book. Anybody new to the series will want to go back and read the rest of the series after reading this one. When Cate discovered that she was the daughter of Jim Morgan, her life immediately changed. She went from being locked away by her grandfather to living with one of the most deadly mercenaries in the world. Jim wanted his daughter to have the normal life that he never had, but instead, she finds herself in love with one of Jim's mercenaries, David "Ash" Ashton, and craving a life filled with adventure. When she drops out of college to become a photographer, she believes she has found her niche, until her partner is murdered and she is on the run from a notorious drug dealer who is supposed to be dead. Jim comes to her rescue but is critically wounded in the process. Because he is near death, his assassin wife, Noelle, calls in all of Jim's team to help track down the man who nearly killed him, but also to say goodbye in case this becomes their last chance.
As Cate wrestles with guilt and her continuing attraction to Ash, Liam and Sully reunite after not speaking for a year or seeing each other for nearly two. Both are haunted by the kiss and the one night in bed that threatened to end their friendship. Cate, Ash, Liam, and Sully all share their heartaches with a comatose Jim in hopes of finding some answers.
This is a wonderful book, jam packed with action and romantic suspense as well as tender moments that tug at the heartstrings. Sully's story about Evangeline is especially heartbreaking. This is a wonderful book which finally gives Cate and Ash their story as well as the hot, hot couple of Liam and Sully. The only bad part of this book is that it had to end. Five stars well deserved.

To say I had high hopes for Midnight Target would be a ridiculous understatement. THIS is the book I've been waiting on since I really started to pick up on the spark between Liam and Sully. After being teased book after book, after having them apart, I wanted, no NEEDED, the payoff in this book. And it needed to be damn good. It was everything I wanted it to be and more. While Liam and Sully were the pairing I was really waiting on, I have to say that I was so happy to see Ash and Cate get a chance at love, too. I thought (and hoped) there might be something brewing between them in previous books, so I was thrilled to finally watch that come to fruition. 

I'm not going to get down into the plot and details on this one. It's truly best if you just experience it on your own and I don't want to ruin a thing for you. What I wills ay is that this book was HOT. But, it was more than that. The suspense had me more or less on the edge of my seat, literally biting my nails (a habit I quit more than a decade ago). I never once assumed that everyone would make it out the other side in one piece... and I actually might have intentionally spoiled the book for myself because I wasn't sure my heart could take all the action, not knowing if everyone would survive. There were also a fair few feels mixed in the suspense and sex this time. Total package, y'all.

I'll admit, at first I was a little sad to learn that Liam and Sully wouldn't get their OWN book because I had waited so long for the climax (pun intended, haha) of their story. My sadness was quickly assuaged as I realized how perfect the pairing of Cate and Ash was. The two couple's stories complemented each other perfectly. It was kinda like a bonus — getting two amazing love stories in one book. I can say I honestly think Killer Instincts series fans will love this book. Liam and Sully, Cate and Ash make for the perfect wrap up to a series I've been obsessed with since I started bingeing it about a year ago. And the epilogue? Total fucking perfection. Just like the rest of this book.
