banger of half proportions

** spoiler alert ** Second read - September 2 2020 3 stars. buddy read I completely forgot what happened since the first time I read this book. Compared to the first read, it was a bit lackluster. It was an introduction back into the world and building up the plot, so it was a bit slow. I liked how Hunter came up with new names for the cats instead of repeating them endlessly. Even though I have ranked this book a bit low compared to the others, I feel like it will get better in time. --------------------------------- 4/5 stars - Nov. 27 2013 *** spoiler review *** I have to say, I honestly doubted Hunter since she changed the POV to Brambleclaw from Firestar. Also, how Firestar seemed like a closeminded cat and pushing Squirrelpaw from Brambleclaw, which didn't work out ... The journey to the sun-down place was interesting. From meeting Purdy, having milk, the rat encounter, the plains, to the sun-down place. I also liked Midnight, I did not expect that and it changed my whole thinking of the book. Can't wait to buy the next one!

I loved this one, but like into the wild I have to get it into the story. Brambleclaw and Leafpaw are our new narrator, which takes some getting used to, and the events have had a timeskip since the darkest hour. 4 cats are chosen for a journey, though 6 take it, and takk to Midnight. Though I understand the necessity to make them feel like one and thus convince the clans to leave I wonder why this message couldn’t have been given by starclan to the medicine cats? Surely the leaders would have listened to them, but I quite loved reading about the journals and characters in other clans. Besides, I absolutely love Squirrelpaw
