What a whirlwind. There are lots of subplots and interesting characters but the organization and order of this book are particularly fascinating. I can see why it's withstood many years in literature circles but there are some moments that you have to read in the context of the early-20th century soviet era. I liked the cultural context the most and found the dialogue to be a bit brazen but occasionally very witty and funny.
