Jess may be a Marine, but she was more a background girl than a warrior. But she has managed to hold her own on the strange world she has found herself. She has been pursued relentlessly by Saal but he just does not interest her. She seems to have an eye for the tall, stoic healer - who just happens to have the body of a warrior! Laarn has kept his distance from Jess, thinking she would be put off by his purposely scarred body, after all Humans seem to be all about the smooth bodies! But when his Uncle gives him an ultimatum which could mean losing Jess altogether, Laarn finally throws his hat into the ring and seems genuinely shocked when Jess returns his advances. But when a battle interrupts his claiming of Jess, Laarn returns to find Jess the target of purists and with a little something to explain to him! Laarn almost jumped to conclusions he shouldn't have but Jess does some leaping of her own and almost lands herself in deeper water! Highly enjoyable read!
