The Harker twins - Hermione and Harriet - were the closest and best of friends throughout their idyllic childhood. Now, though, they haven't spoken for fifteen years - they don't even know if the other's alive, thanks to a cataclysmic misunderstanding over a man. Now Harriet's living in Bath where she's just broken up with her husband and Hermione's in Toronto, where she's facing life as a single mum, having just discovered that the father of her baby is married.
