Reread in anticipation for book 2. Listen to the audiobook for the first time. The narrator did a good job.

Misfits is the first book in the Royal Academy Rebels series, which is a spin off from the Fairy Tale Reform School series. You do not need to have read the Fairy Tale Reform School series in order to read this one. 

I really enjoyed this book, but I did have some problems with it. Some of my problems was challenged in the book and I do believe that the rest will be challenged in further books, so I will not be discussing those. 

CHARACTERS

The ones I liked:
Devin - The main character, is a very bright young princess, who would rather spend her time helping animals, then ruling kingdoms. She questions a lot of the ways the Royal Academy raises young princes and princesses. She was fierce and I really enjoyed reading about her.
Sasha - She is the most fierce female character I've read about in a long time. She wants to be both a princess and a writer, and won't settle for just one. She stands up for her friends and what she believes in.
Logan - He's a very nice person and a good friend.

The ones I unfortunatly disliked (most because they were very stereotypical):
Devins mum - she's the stereotypical queen mum that doesn't understand her daughter, and wants her daughter to marry a prince and become a queen. She doesn't care about Devins interests or desires. 
Clarissa - the stereotypical mean girl. If a boy chooses another girl, she gets mad at the girl and not the boy. 
Olivina - the fairy godmother who runs the school. I just had a hard time believing that it was the same godmother that helped Cinderella. 

The rest of the characters:
Most of the princes and princesses were so mean and superficial, another stereotype. 
Heath - the typical "bad boy" that isn't actually bad.
Raina - don't have much of an opinion, she was very forgettable. 

THE STORY

The book is a very fun and fast read. I really enjoyed Sasha and Devin. My main issue was that there isn't really an ending. When you invest time in a book, you want there to be a pay off. I did enjoy the book enough to be continuing on with this story, and I do like where it's going. I just found the cliffhanger to be a bit pointless
