While I enjoyed drawing the lines between Danish and Greenlandic culture, and the sense of expanse and chill this book conveys, I couldn’t understand why so many characters, often after a bloody fight, go on to help our crafty, depressed anti heroine. It was frankly not believable that her primary skill aside from reading snow — which turns out only moderately helpful — is getting friends and enemies to give her info they don’t want to.

A pleasingly dark whodunnit/thriller, that is as much about the clash of Danish and Greenlandic cultures as it is about the slightly incredible main plotline. Good one-liners, plenty of action, slightly fizzly-out ending though.
