I love a good slow burn and that’s exactly what she delivers with Mister Romance. You know those books that, when you start, you think to yourself “I’ll just read a couple of chapters before bed,” yet somehow you breeze through 50% of the book (or more) because you’re that addicted and you have to force yourself to go to bed? THAT was Mister Romance for me. I just couldn’t get enough of Eden and Max. I couldn’t get enough of the laughs and that delicious slow burn as they got to know each other and realize that neither was what they previously thought the other was. I loved absolutely everything about this book. The characters were amazing. I loved Eden from the very start. Her inner dialogue was great and she was smart and sassy. I want to be her friend. For reals. Max — and all of his alter egos, for that matter — was so swoony. I was afraid I would be a little skeeved out by him, but I wasn’t. Not even one little bit. The guy was just … unf. *all the heart eyes* The romance was out of this world, as you might expect from a book titled Mister Romance. More than that, however, the underlying theme that everyone deserves to be seen and appreciated definitely struck a chord with me. Mister Romance is one of my favorite books of the year so far and I suspect that, at the end of the year, it’ll still be on that list. It was exactly the book I needed to read when I read it. I can’t wait to see what’s next for the new Masters of Love series! I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. FAVORITE QUOTES “What can I say? Some girls like to attract men with good looks and a great personality. I prefer to showcase my extreme clumsiness. I think it’s an underrated way of appealing to the opposite sex.” If you buy a ticket on the Love Express, it comes with compulsory stops at Painville, The Isle of Co-Dependence, and Betrayal Central, so why get onboard in the first place? “Sex is for the body. Romance is for the soul.” “You can live and die within the lifetime of a decent kiss. Trust me on that.” “I hate to break it to you, Miss Tate, but the so-called drug you’re so strung out on is me.” He’s not a friend. He’s not a lover. He’s a walking, breathing erogenous zone who fascinates me and infuriates me in equal measure. I want to taste every sweet inch of him. I want to discover which parts will make him groan and which will make him swear when I suck on them. I want to taste his pecs and abs, and sink my teeth into tight bands of muscles around his arms.
