Today we will be sharing our thoughts on the second story, 
  Sleigh Bells and Second Chances.



Becca and I had the pleasure of reading and reviewing Mistletoe and Mr. Right when it was first released last winter. At that time, it was only that one story. Since then they have added the second story, Sleigh Bells and Second Chances, which I jumped at the chance to read after enjoying the first novella so much. SB&SC is the story of Christina, who happens to be Jessica’s best friend, (Jessica is the MC in Mistletoe and Mr. Right, in case you weren’t sure. ;)) ), and her Christmas holiday, which she is forced to spend in London with it’s hottest band, instead of vacationing somewhere warm with her family. It’s her job, so she doesn’t have a choice. But what makes it even worse: the lead singer is her ex. She had a summer fling with him, after which he up and left. It took her months to get over him, so working with him will be a challenge. Little does she know this Christmas holiday will be a load of chaos, to say the least.

I really enjoyed this story. When comparing these two stories, I think I connected with Jessica in M&MR on a deeper level, so I ended up liking that story a bit more. Christina was a tougher character for me to really relate to. I did enjoy the band aspects though, as music in books is a bit of an obsession of mine. Though there were some scenes on the sexy side, they were very minimal and low on the steamy scale. I did enjoy the chemistry between Christina and Cary, it just took me a little bit to really buy into their romance. I also really liked her extended family. They added a lot to the overall story on a much sweeter side.

This is definitely the perfect read for this time of year. I adore Christmassy books, and this was no exception. The Christmas feel, mixed with the chilly temps and warm beverages, makes for a very enjoyable reading experience. If you’re looking for a fun Christmas story to read over the holidays, I would definitely recommend this set of adorable novellas. Both are sure to brighten your Christmas spirit, as well as bring about the warm fuzzy feelings.
