I recieved a copy from the author for an honest review. 

This book was fabulous! Emery and Declan were such compelling, real characters. I was hooked from the first word to the last period.

Greye wrote an amazing fantasy, it sits pretty with ACOTAR, Graceling, and Shadow Bone. However, Greye gives a unique story and I am so sad that I read this book in one sitting. I should have dragged the awesomeness out, but I couldn't put it down. 

I am ready for the next book, and I may go crazy during the wait.

I really enjoyed this book! The writing was beautiful, the plot was captivating, the magic system was intriguing, and the characters were so likable! I absolutely loved the romance in it with Emry and Declan's unconditional love for each other! Can't wait to see what will happen in the next book!

I actually really enjoyed this book. It was a mixture of Red Queen and Falling Kingdoms. People are separated into two groups, Royals or Rioters and some (maybe all, I wasn’t entirely certain of that) have special abilities. 

What I liked about the story:
•It was face paced. I did not feel as if I read any filler and that’s rate in a fantasy book. 
•For the most part, I really enjoyed Emry. She was a strong, level headed character. I also enjoyed her relationship with Declan. 
•I was happy this wasn’t a slow burn romance. I like that I didn’t have to wait. I’m impatient. That being said, this book isn’t centered in romance. 

Problems:
•Emry had too much going on for her. I felt like every single chapter I was learning something new about her. It was too much. 
• Everyone grunted or groaned ALL THE TIME. Every time they moved, they grunted. This is honestly a minor detail, but it bothered me so much. 
• The story wasn’t anything unique or new. It was still enjoyable. 

Overall I enjoyed reading the book! Liked the characters and the world.
