Always looking both ways, torn between two ways of seeing things. January looks forward to the new year and back to the old year. He sees past and future.

Beautiful story around a small town with a lighthouse, and what happens when good people make bad decisions.

Not that anyone cares to know, but I am infertile and this story kind of spoke to me (not in a good way). I think this story was tainted, though, by the fact that I hated the mother so much. Evil little wench of an adopted thing. She was stealing someone else's baby and would justify it by just saying that the mother is probably dead. When she found out that she isn't then she says she probably wasn't a good mother anyway.  I finished it just to make sure that bitch didn't end up being able to keep the kid. This is the wrong way to deal with infertility.
