This is so creepy and intriguing in the best way possible. All the metaphors, the art, the feelings! Ugh!

I first tried reading this last year, around this time, but I was in a horrible place mentally and did not think it was a wise decision. However, I am glad I came back to it this year.

While the story has not quite delved into the themes I would like a story like this to explore just yet, I think it is promising. The art is beautiful, too, and the author has an uncanny ability for representing the languidity and oppressive heat of summer, taking it to anxiety-inducing suffocation. Excellent atmosphere for good horror.

I think maybe I'll treat this as this year's Halloween read... It's so weird and disturbing but endearing at the same time and intriguing and rather scary. But I feel like it also makes you question humanity and what makes a person a person, like where does your personality and being begin and end? It feels like the ship of Theseus in human form. Idk one of the best mangas I've read so far and the art is fucking A M A Z I N G!!!!!
