This month has been a struggle reading wise and I am almost afraid to say it’s a reading slump (because I already know it is). I haven’t really been drawn to anything as of late and have dropped books left to right, including this one. 
 
MJ is known to bring the dark, gritty romances I love and adore to life and despite the twists and turns, I just couldn’t get into this. The novel started off strong—the prologue featured background details of Punky’s mother's gruesome death and what led him to become the man he is today intrigue me but as the story progressed and when the readers were also introduced to ‘Babydoll’, I lost all interest and became bored with what I was reading.
 
It has nothing to do with MJ style. I love it, I truly do. It has more to do with me and as of right now, I will be putting this aside to pick back up in the near future when my reading slump isn’t affecting my overall reading experience.

Thy Kingdom Come is a Dark, New Adult, Mafia Romance that starts off in the prologue intense and heartbreaking. What follows after had me wanting answers. Loved Punky as his past left him unemotional. The painted face cover and title fit the plot perfect. Gritty with many twists that I loved trying to piece together. I found the religious war interesting. Punky and his best friends Cian and Rory were so fun and they add so much to Punky and Babydoll story. The Irish accent is heavy but I do not think this book would of been good any other way.
