Tropes : strangers to benefits to enemies to lovers? If that is even a thing, contemporary, touch her and die.

Pacing : slow. (The book was dragged at times, and i couldn’t find any reason to like it)

Characters : okay, so i’ll summarise the story, or try to. The story starts with summer attention her parent’s party which is whit’s father and her mother, and what does he do when he meets her, he kisses her and calls her a whore, refering to her mother. He blames the wreckage of his parent’s marriage on summer. And don’t —

This girl, summer she’s folding to whit’s seduction, even if he’s the one who humiliates her in the worst way possible, he asks the entire school to torture her, because he hates her, and only stops when summer is ready to exchange sexual favours for the bullying to stop. Annoying. On top of that, there’s nothing but summer hanging out with sylvie— his sister, and then fucking every chance they get. Also, whit is such an asshole, he fucks her and then throws her away as if she didn’t mean anything. This wasn’t dark, it was rude, and unsatisfying. There’s was no redemption arc for whit, if he was sexually anything good, maybe i’d have loved this book, but it kept grating on my nerves, also 640 pages?? Please. Then, at the ending chapters, there’s a tiny bit of character development, only for whit though, which quickly gets crushed because he’s still the same asshole who called summer names and made sure her life was hell. And then jumped to save her, he also blames her for wearing a revealing dress and ”wearing a dress like that, what did you expect?” see I can expect assholeness from my MMC’s, if they are any good at loving the FMC in any way, even landon king, the infuriating prick from Rina kent’s universe was better. There was nothing in this book that i could have loved. In the epilogue, they have a kid, and they name him August, after whit’s father’s name, calling it tradition of passing names, this couple— i swear, young adult couples can do better, but what is this?

What I loved : only monty’s parts, Sylvie and summer’s parts.

What I struggled with : the plot. Honestly, this 640 pages of a book didn’t need to be this long.

Plot driven / character driven : my motivation to finish this book, instead of dnf— ing it.

Any other details : i tried to like this book, but i just couldn’t, maybe some other day, which is not today. The notes on the cover are reference to the journal whit steals because he doesn’t like showing weakness. This boy, yes, boy. Not a man was annoying in all ways possible. I understand the negative reviews now, and am seriously contemplating if I should other books in this series.

listen, this book basically 85% smut and 15% plot but I AINT COMPLAINING. i’m very much enjoyed the spice this book gave even though i wish there’s more angsty of the two mc. 

i never knew in my whole life that i will be obsessed with bully romance. typical cringe but i really enjoyed this book so much. Whit and Summer’s relationship in this book really has the best development. enemies to lovers to enemies to lovers kinda trope yup i really ate it. let’s talk about whit first, that man literally called summer “whore” in every fucking page and it turns out to be hot for me. i know it’s weird but wtv. but the way he punched someone because of summer even though he hates her >>>>> we just love an obsessed men. summer. she so fucking strong and i really adore her. like she so cool in her own way. and i can see why whit was so obsessed with her. 

so okay this might not be light read bcs there’s a lot of family drama and stuffs that could be a disturbing and shocking. idk how to convince you guys to read this book but if you love some boy obsessed trope, enemies to lovers, bully romance and all just read it!!!

summer and whit met when they were 14 (they both have the same bday) and they literally just made out, HE HATES HER CAUSE HER MOM WAS HIS DADS MISTRESS. their family fell apart cause of summers narcissistic mom. a few years later summer transfers to the lancaster prep school and they meet again. he’s surprised and obviously hates her, bullies her, etc. she finds a new friend (sylvie) and she’s whit’s sister who’s extremely sick and always talks about dying. she gets SA‘d like 2 times at that school (halloween and while she’s trying to got jogging at night [elliot & bryan]) one day after they hook up he walks around her room while she’s asleep to find something that could potentially hurt her. he finds her journal! yay! (the journal talks a lot about how she got raped and SA’d by her stepbrother yates and how she was the reason yates and his nicer father jonas died in a fire —> it was actually cause of her mother but she didn’t tell her till the end and let her suffer🥰 anyways, she’s terrified that he got her journal and could potentially get her to jail. she has to do anything he wants and yea. straight porn goes on for agessss. on thanksgiving sylvie invites summer to come with her to visit her fam for a week. she agrees cause she basically has no fam herself and her mother doesn’t give batshit about her. the whole week they do the deed😊 whole week. and whit’s sort of pedo father gives her the looks… one day when they go to a party and she sees whit near a girl and expects the worst. she starts crying and meets montgomery, the nice gay dude. they’re besties all of the sudden. with and summer make up and make up yada yada. the next day sylvie is pissed at summer, understandably so, but she has a venomous tongue so it gets dirty real fast. she insults her like there’s no tomorrow and basically calles her a gold digger cause the lancasters are like the wealthiest family ever. sylvies fucked up mother sylvia obviously also hates her cause she’s the daughter of the person who ruined their family and she also insults her and threatens to send her to jail if she doesn’t leave their mansion immediately (she read her journal and knows everything). she leaves and sylvia even writes a „letter“ from „summer“ so whit thinks she left cause she got the money she wanted. she goes to her mothers place and she confesses that she was actually the one. summer then takes a gap year (her mom allows her cause she feels guilty) to paris all alone but she meets monty there and monty and whit planned everything so whit and summer meet there again after 1 year and 4 months. they hook up. they go back to the US. after 5 years they have kids and marry🥰 (he wanted to marry her at 19 tho) the father doesn’t fancy her anymore either. weird guy.

I hate this guy. I just had brain damage by reading this. what part of this book is romance? all summer and whit talk about is how sick they are and fuck all the time. it got disgusting and I got so bored. I thought there at least would be an interesting plot. secrets in the journal. no, the answer is no. the plot was how having sex and dirty talk makes you and someone soulmates. I won't print this to my journal, doesn't deserve to be there. worst. book. ever.

It was all exquisite.. pretty sure it was 85% smut, 15% plot. Though I did not mind 👀

Whittaker Lancaster, Summer Savage, and a whole lot of raw obsession. The need, the want, everything..

The smut was sure dark, constants and ufff very filthy. It was crazy when I was reminded that they were barely legal; 17-18 years old, they were.

However, as much as I liked the sexy parts, I did find them too much in occasions. Like, he was half groveling and half trying to fuck her again. Keep it in your pants bro. That is what actually made it seem a very physical relationship, not bad, however the emotional connection was most likely lost in between. 

5 stars still because I did mindlessly enjoy and was intrigued from the very first page to the very last. 

Also, I feel like I highlighted so much phrases or words throughout the book and that’s extra points x

Ummmm Wow…… God I hated Whit at first but this man grewwww on me! Ughhhh Chapter 32!!! <3333 (Finally seeing him in the feels, such a sweet moment between the two characters 🥺) I feel like the plot could’ve been bigger, the self growth was definitely needed and I’m glad they did that apart. Overall it was a great book and I can’t wait to read A Million Kisses in Your Lifetime :) <333

This book made me want to throw across the room and off a balcony I did not like this book at all it was basically a smut book with no plot. And Whit how much a prick that he is he took Summers  journal with personal entries in there so he could blackmail her into doing dirty stuff with him and their first interaction how she can be his whore because her mother is having an affair with his father nope I don’t like but there were places in the book where I give props to him with protecting summer from someone almost beating her up and raping her I feel so bad for Summer in this book because of guilt she has to carry around with her and the way everyone treats her because Whit tells them to I wish Monica Murphy at least made him grovel in this book instead of realizing that she is the one for him as he got older   ( this book has tropes of enemies to lovers, bully romance, private school romance, and I hate everyone but you this book does contain topics such and suicide, rape, and blackmail)

this book was js bad. the characters in this were hella annoying i js want to slap tf out of them so they can get sum sense. this book said it was gon be "dark" theres really nothing dark abt it. probably bc i be reading too much dark romance. summer was a legit an idiot, like idk how she got into ap/honors classes and shes stupid. and i really liked slyvie or whatever her name is at the beginning but after the thanksgiving event she got annoying like i understand where shes coming from but like how come u say "i dont like my mother" type bs then act like her?🤨 weird anyways. the smut in here was good thats only y im giving it 2 stars😭
