I want to hate Abbie’s character but then again I need to empathize with what had happened to her which made her act that way. I guess it rubbed me off weirdly that her internal monologue kept mentioning her dick of an ex while she’s dating Damien! 🙃 

Anywhoooo, the saving grace in this book is Damien!!!!!! He’s not your typical uptight & bossy lawyer who cares nothing but his work work work! He actually made time to see and get to know Abbie! In the beginning, he wasn’t looking for anything serious, but realized later on that it was Abbie for him! I’m assuming it was his lawyer skills and age which made him the more understanding character. He was observant and attentive. He was also patient with her whenever she deflects and shiz.

Started my holiday season reading off with this fun romcom and it did not disappoint!

I absolutely love the mental health representation, how she understands the damage her verbally abusive ex did to her and how hard she works to become herself again. 

There is nothing more attractive in a partner than someone who pushes you to be exactly who you are, and celebrates it. 

I absolutely adore Damien’s mindset on partners being equal in a relationship and how important Abbie is as his equal. 

Also absolutely obsessed with how obsessed he is with her 🥹 like she is the sunshine and he wants to see her shine day in and day out.

I do wish there had been more to Damien as far as work he needed to do for himself, I find it a little lacking that he seemed to be the “perfect man” and she was the one who needed to find herself again, like he had no red flags. It was endearing but unrealistic. Ain’t no man perfect 😬

Tis the Season for Revenge has some humorous elements to it, especially for those who have been treated badly by a boyfriend, but the plan the women make comes across as petty.  Also, by taking so much time and energy to execute their plan, Abbie continues to give too much power to Richard and the things he said and did to her.  In addition, deceiving the love interest, Damien Martinez, who is obviously a much better person than Richard, Abbie sets herself up for more heartache. Overall, Tis the Season for Revenge is well written, but I didn't enjoy reading about Abbie and her plan.

Absolutely loved reading every word of this book. The moment November 1st hit and it became Christmas season, I started looking for Christmas books to read and I’m glad this was my first spicy Christmas book. I am obsessed ☺️

I loved Damien and Abbie; their dynamic just fit, I thought it was perfect. Although the story was pretty predictable-ish (I thought certain climax scenes would be more intense and angsty), I had so so so much fun with this and devoured it in 3 hours.

I only wish that Richard had less things to say. Probably I'm very fortunate to have never met a man like him, but he felt so incredibly one dimensional. If a man like him exists, I'm SCARED. But if a man exactly like Damien exists, then I need you.

I have seen this book circulating around and the cover immediately drew me in. It’s adorable and is basically Legally Blonde fanfiction, so I thought it would be a winner, but I was seriously shocked and disappointed.

This looks like a fun, light-hearted, holiday rom-com, but it is so much more and so much less all at once. Abbie is not easy to like - she is not very bright and annoying. Damien is supposed to be this white knight who shows her how she should have been treated, but I lost all respect for him after reading some of the cringiest sex scenes.

I think that was my major issue with this book. The sex. So Much Sex. We barely see these characters interact before they are having sex. Where he all of a sudden starts calling her a whore. His dirty talk and their dialogue is so so so cringey. I wish I had a picture of my face while reading this.

Instead of giving me the warm and fuzzies, this romance gave me the creepy crawlies. And it was so much that I didn’t have it in me to finish.

Legally blonde but make it Christmas.. this was so fun I loved it! Damien Martinez is too good to be true and I loved seeing Abbie realize her worth and what she deserves! Was it corny at times? Definitely but still I ate this up! It was so fluffy and the spice?! I love book men who take care of the mcs who are used to taking care of everyone else 😭😭

After having read some reviews saying that it was stupid and cheesy, I read this. Even after learning it was the 5th book in a series, I still read it. What did I get from it? I got a fun retelling of Legally Blonde and a big case of ick. The spice in this one is through the roof, so much that I found myself thinking "babes, just sit down and talk for a while with your clothes on". Just a heads up: the male lead is very possessive and he says some things that might be triggering for some readers (they were for me and I read a lot of smut).

I started off enjoying this book but as it progressed I realised it just wasn’t working. Damien and Abbie definitely experienced insta-love and that made the romance less fun as there was no tension. Then the only real obstacle for them was Abbie’s deception about her ex and going to the Christmas party. Add in the fact the sex scenes were cringey (for me, anyway, they weren’t sexy like I know they were meant to be) and this book just flopped on the romance front. I didn’t even like Damien despite him being a really likeable character as he was too nice. He didn’t feel like a real character but basically this perfect cut out of a man instead. Just…I’m glad I didn’t pay for it and borrowed on KU.
