This was so much fun! I was curious as though what was gonna happen in this book. And I was pleasantly suprised. Loved it!!

I think Sybella is still my favourite but I really enjoyed following Annith’s story and seeing everything came together in the end. It was a very satisfying conclusion to this trilogy. The romance was also beautiful and I think the epitome of star-crossed love. Highly recommend!

Mortal Hearty by Robin LaFevers

This is the final book in a great YA fantasy trilogy. In this book, Annith finally takes control of her destiny and leaves the convent. She is not happy with the way that the Reverend Mother is running the convent and treating her young assassins-in-training. On her journey, Annith finds much about her birth, her life and who she is as an adult. This series has great, strong female main characters, romance, action and fantasy in a historical setting. I highly recommend these books to high schoolers and adults.

Such a satisfying conclusion to a series that we basically no the outcome due to it being based on real events. Nonetheless everything still caught me off guard and there were moments where I put the book down and couldn't believe what was going on! Annith's side of the story is very unique and probably the one with the most plot twists but my favorite is still going to Ismae's story. I have a soft spot for her and Duval and I kept wanting to hear more of them. Other than that the book was great. I really wish the author would write more books! Thumbs up!

Annith's story was a good way to end this amazing trilogy about assassinating nuns. The struggle Annith faces was briefly mentioned in the previous books, but the fleshed out story had even more depth. Although the resolution was a little weak, the overall condition to this dark trilogy was fantastic.

           If you haven’t read His fair assassins trilogy... please do. This was a great wrap up, I have to admit the second book is my absolute favorite of the 3 but I loved the story! Assassin nuns? Umm yes please. Robin Lafevers uses true historical events to mold her story which is super Intriguing to me. If you love history and some dark ya fantasy, this trilogy is for you.

Sybella is my absolute favorite of them all, her story is the one I connected with the most. However, all three girls are amazing, each in their own way. There were moments of shock for me during this book, some things were unexpected. One thing I will say, it could’ve been a little shorter. I love how Annith also got her happy ending, and Ismae did as well. All the girls struggled so much to have normalcy in their lives and each found their calling. The story continues with Courting Darkness which I am definitely going to read. I seriously have fallen in love with this series. It’s on my list of favorites.

The start was a bit rocky with Annith's narration (aka more annoying than I would've liked), but the story definitely smoothed out & overall became a satisfying end to this trilogy. :D I can't lie, I was all up on Balthazaar/Mortain, because that character's trope is one where my pants fly off. *shameless*

A fitting end to the His Fair Assassin Trilogy. However, I didn't feel as connected to Annith as I did to Ismae and Sybella, and I think this may be related to the need to also wrap up the trilogy (instead of really just focusing in on the character building). LaFevers writing immerses you in the time period, but with a mystical and mythological edge that is all her own. I appreciated the twist on the love interest here, but I did find the ending a bit rushed. I also really really really wanted more of Sybella and Ismae, who did make appearances but never enough for me :).

Out of all the His Fair Assassin Series, this one is by far the best. Not only was it well written, like aways, the characters just made me giddy and happy. I absolutely loved Annith. But we will get into the characters later in this review. Mortal Heart was a heart throbbing read, that kept my heart pumping faster until the very last pages.

First off, like always, this book has a map. As I have said many times in my other reviews on books that have maps. I absolutely love them. It tells me that the author put time and dedication into what they wanted the world to look like, and this books map had me staring at it for quite some time, as the finest of details was put into this creation! Well done Robin LaFevers!

As I have said before, Annith out of all three sisters, was my favorite. Instantly at the beginning of Mortal Heart, I was able to connect with her instantly. 

Annith hates that her sisters get to live in the outside world, caring out missions from their God - Mortain. She hates that she is trapped within the walls of the covenant and is being told she is to be the next seer. And when things get to much, she decides it is time to take destiny into her own hands. But does she truly know what lies ahead and can she cope with the dark secrets that lurk around every corner. 

 

Annith is strong, brave, and read for an adventure. If only the Reverend Mother would see that she is ready. She has superior skill in all the ways to kill a man, yet can not put it into action. Until one day a girl shows up at the covenant. Now I do not believe this girl meant to put things into motion but she did. She was chosen, not even a few months into her stay at the covenant, for an assignment. Which, I believe, was the last straw for Annith. She decides to pack her bags and leave in the dead of night. 

Throughout the book Annith, did what she want, but she was always afraid that Mortain - the God of Death - would disapprove. I enjoyed watching her grow as a character, and out of all the sisters, she grew the most. Just because of the fact that there are deep secrets that end up revealing themselves. 

Now the relationship between Annith and Balthezar...I hope I spelt his name right...was quite interesting. There was always something about Balthezar that threw me through a loop hole but when I finally figured it out. Oh my goodness, I fell out of my seat in shock. I just could not believe what I was reading...I would tell you...but I am not a spoiler ;). 

I loved watching them grow together threw Mortal Heart. You can definitely tell that there is romance between the two, but I feel that they both were denying it, especially Balthezar. I was upset that they wouldn't just get together already, but of course that was until the secret was revealed, and than I understood why. 

I loved the world of His Fair Assassin, it kept me intrigued all the way until the last book. I am so glad that i was given the opportunity to review this book and the ability to read each book from this series. I loved how well Robin wrote the worlds and she knew exactly what she wanted. I had no problems with these books except that I want there to be a few more in the series! It just saddens me that they are done....are they done?

I would recommend this book to anyone that wants a good romance, adventure, and dark secrets. Of course there is fighting, killing, and a medieval realm that needs to be explored as well.
