Honestly, after watching all those marauders edits on my for you page, I felt like I had a duty to read All the young dudes. I downloaded the book from ao3 and read it in the train to and from uni. And guess what? My for you page was right. This is not just fanfiction, it is fanart. J.K. Rowling could never. 

I thought it was refreshing how the characters were not 100% likeable, they all had their flaws and I loved them for it (stan Bambi <3). I loved how there is more in-depth about the first wizarding war and how the werewolves played a role in that one. 

I knew it was a wolfstar fanfic, but when I was in the train home reading about the moment they got together, I looked at the invisible camera in shock (like in the Office?) which obviously wasn't there and I just looked very strangely at the man sitting across from me (I left the train at the next stop). Another time I was holding back tears when the train just rolled into my stop and I had to ask people to move so I could get out. It was so worth it. Please read it, it's a free masterpiece. 

I don't know if I'm going to read more fanfiction, because I didn't really like reading on my phone, but All the young dudes was definitely awesome.

If you liked this book, I recommend: help to get out of your existential crisis because what are you going to do with your life after you've read this?

This is a proper book (it has somewhere around 530K words) so I will make an exception and add it to my reading challenge.
Wow. To think this is a fanfiction that was posted on a free website. Unbelievable. This story brought me so much joy, I couldn't stop smiling as I read. What I throughly enjoyed were their years aht Hogwarts; when I re-read, I'll definitely read until the ending of the seventh year.
However, for the post-Hogwarts part of the book, I have my slight critiques. It is sad, it is heartbreaking, but I felt the ending was a little rushed. Remus and his licanthropy, his story with who he finds himself accompanied by; those are things that were worked through the entire book and there's nothing surprising or rushed about it. But the ending and the days that lead up to that night when the story ends... I feel like, maybe, some of the previous chapters could've been erased and instead give more space for the final chapters to develop. Maybe even a chapter from this other character's point of view (the one that reappears during the last bit of the book, I don't want spoilers). Also, the author has a "policy" by which she doesn't rewrite events already narrated in any of the canon books. This applies to the major deaths too, and I feel the events per se were overlooked and I would've loved to read them in Remus' s point of view. 
Overall, amazing book. With the references and the songs at the beginning of each chapter, I really felt I was in the 70's. I hope someday we can read MsKingBean89 published by an important publishing company.

This is probably going to be a short review because I’m in school rn lmao.
I’m a massive marauders era fan, but this book has always been to intimidating for me to start.
For anyone else who thinks the same, it’s so easy to read, everything just flows and you get hooked immediately, and I’m so glad I tried it.
I love all of the characters so much, and the story is so well done.
It made me cry so much though to just be warned.

i loved this. it was really cute and emotional and emotional and emotional. took 1 star off for the fact that it was not grammatically correct a fair bit of the time, but the story was amazing. kudos for mskingbean89 for actually finishing the fic lmao.

It took me a very long time to get through this because it was an emotional rollercoaster and I could only take little at a time. I loved it so much and Remus was written so well. I felt really connected to him. I like that the author changed nothing about the original storyline, but the knowledge about what was going to happen didn’t make it any easier for me.

I was kinda disappointed with this. Not in a way that I would say it was a bad book but rather in a way that I thought it would break me which it didn’t 😂
Recommend it to everyone obsessed with the marauders 

I didn’t cry but TikTok edits made about this that I watched made me sob. It’s beautiful and wonderful and absolutely bloody gorgeous. Best fanfic I’ve ever read. And Moony and Sirius reuniting just made my heart hurt because they had so little time after that.
