MULAN: Reflections

thoroughly enjoyed this book! had to go rewatch mulan in the middle of it. the fighting scenes were difficult to visualize and could’ve been written better but the journey through the underworld was fun to follow along.

* I would give this book for review 3.5*

I found this to a fun take on the MULAN myth and really liked the question it tackled. This book had two very strong elements escaping the underworld with a lot of fighting and also a self exportation for Mulan about who she really is. I was more captivated by the second half of the book but did sometimes zone out in the battle scenes. But i did like how the underworld was used as setting, this was not my favorite read but one I did enjoy.
