I didn't find Wyatt to be likeable, I feel like that is pretty important in a small town romance. He is jobless, fights, drinks, lives in filth, and tosses women about like they're nothing... and he's supposed to be the big likeable untouchable? If this were a dark romance with dark themes, the man can be a little toxic. Otherwise it just reads fuckboy. It seems to me like maybe Andy has terrible taste in men. lol

→“You’re my wish come true”
→“You’re more than just my family,” he said. “You’re my home.”

THIS WAS SOE SO SO SO SO CUTE. All the characters were so well developed AND WYATT?!? THE PERFECT GUY WHATTTTT Liked how short the break up period was AND HIM GETTING HER BACK? Only from fantasies don’t get me started.

Andie and Wyatt have been circling each other for years. She's had a crush on him for years but believes he only sees her as his best friend's little sister. Wyatt has crushed on Andie for years but he comes from way too dysfunctional a family. He may love her but he also knows that he may not be what she needs. Wyatt refuses to be yoked to the family business so he makes a living doing oddjobs and singing with his band. He may not have access to the money he used to but he is a damn sight happier. When Andie suddenly gets hit with a lot of HOA fines and is in danger of losing her house, Wyatt steps in and gets to work fixing up her snag list. But all that forced proximity is going to lead to more than a fixed-up house - they may just mend each other's heart too! They burn up the dance floor (and the bedsheets) together! I totally loved Andie and her verbal diarrhea of facts. She has a great sense of fun, a sassy mouth, and a take no prisoners attitude. Wyatt may play the playboy role but he has a core of mush - I love seeing him with his nephews/nieces/younger siblings. That King clan is well and truly mixed up and I'm so proud of him for taking a stand against all his father's toxicity. Watch out for all the ice cream puns and a great romantic gesture scene to make you laugh and sigh! Tanner and Lucy are up next - I can't wait to see what is in store for them!

*4.5 *I received a copy of this via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review* Andie Lockhart has had a crush on Wyatt King for as long as she can remember but has come to terms with the fact that he'll never see her as anything but his best friend's little sister. She has to watch as he flirts his way through all the women in their small town, all the while trying to hide the fact that she desperately wishes she could be the one he lavishes his attention on. What Andie doesn't know is that Wyatt has harbored feelings for her just as long as she has for him, but a promise to her brother when they were young has kept him from ever acting on his urges. When a real estate developer threatens to take away Andie's beloved house she inherited from her grandma, Wyatt is determined to help her. As the pair spend every waking moment together fixing the old house up, it becomes increasingly harder to hide their feelings from one another, and after a mind-blowingly great kiss one night, why should they? Andie is elated when Wyatt returns her feelings but will the promise he made to her brother ruin their chances at love before it even begins? Much like Andie and her favorite ice cream flavor, I ate this book up! I read it in a day because I didn't want to put it down. This was my first book by Nix, but it definitely won't be the last. Her writing was so easy to fall into and I was fully charmed by her characters and the small town vibes she created. The banter between Andie and Wyatt was everything, and I loved how the transition from friends to something more was so effortless and natural. Not to mention their chemistry was off the charts. It was also so satisfying watching Wyatt open up to Andie and become more vulnerable about himself and his insecurities. I did get a little annoyed with just how ridiculously overprotective Andie's brother was regarding her love life but other than that, I couldn't get enough of this and will be counting down the days until the next book.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for review consideration. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. I'll have a full review soon(ish) but for now, I just have to say I adored this book. Wyatt and Andie were wonderful. Oh, the pining! The dancing! The heat! I loved all of it. Sure things got a little messy and I wanted to shake some sense into Wyatt, but it was on-brand for him. Plenty of swoons in this one.

** spoiler alert ** This was cute. Ice cream romance. I just hate the misunderstanding trope! With one conversation they could have been together ten years earlier.
