My Fake Rake The Union of the Rakes
Reviews

I've only recently gotten into Leigh's books, but I'm having a great time. I really enjoyed the characters in this one. The relationship between Grace and Sebastian was sweet, and I loved how they were able to be themselves with one another. My only gripe was that I didn't love the third act conflict because I'm not a fan of the miscommunication trope. I also felt the ending wrapped up a bit too quickly, but other than that I liked this a lot.

Maybe even 4.5 stars TBH!! This was exactly what I wanted when I was searching for a friends to lovers. It really just scratched exactly what I needed. Like omg you know I love a “fake dating trope” too. Grace was so lovely and Sebastian was amazing like?!!??!! This is only my second book by Miss Eva, but I enjoy the way she writes her male leads. Gah this book was so sweet and nerdy and I truly devoured it. Nah but like Sebastian is just 😍😍😍😍😍 The criticism seems to be that he has no backbone or whatever but like no disrespect but I am different! I love a man that will simp for me!! Will definitely read all the books in this series.

Wow. This book was just so freaking cute. Sebastian and Grace are the nerdiest, sweetest characters. Sebastian is so handsome, athletic, smart, and caring. Their friendship and romance is just so dang cute and beautiful. However, I cannot stand the conflict in the last half of the book. It took forever to get resolved, and it was such a horrible conflict. Like, I hate when the conflict of a romance book is miscommunication or misinterpreting what another person means. Why couldn't they just be honest and forthcoming with their feelings?! It took way too long to resolve it too, around 5 to 10 chapters of conflict is way too much. I imagine this is more realistic in terms of actual couples, but in my romances I need the love not the heartbreak. Overall though I have not read a more beautiful romance in a very long time. The characters were so supportive of each other, and had such a wonderful relationship. It was beautiful. I recommend this to anyone that is interested.

Sebastian Holloway has secretly adored Lady Grace Wyatt ever since sharing a pencil with her in the library they both frequent. But Sebastian is merely a poor scholar with no prospects, and Lady Grace is on a mission to make a famed naturalist she wants to wed notice her, a plan that includes molding Sebastian into a rake of the first order. But as these two bookish souls spend more and more time together, they realize that that happiness and true love may be right under their bespactacled noses. I had a grand time watching these two nerds blushingly fall in love with each other and I cannot wait to read more in this series! There are a lot of great lines, but I'll wait until I see a finished copy before quoting. I received a free ARC in exchange for a fair review.

It was fun and interesting to have a heroine who spoke about her sexual freedom so openly in a historical. Typically the leading ladies in this genre are wilting ninnies so this was a refreshing change of pace.

I really loved this concept, a friends to lovers romance with bookish main characters and a heroine transforming the hero into a rake, but the miscommunication got a bit frustrating for me! Plus the narrator of the audio never differentiated the voices between the hero and heroine lol. So if anyone is interested in reading this, I would skip the audio
