Nam Le

The boat

Ranging from the Colombian slums to New York City, from the streets of Tehran to a boat in the South China Sea, an inventive collection of short fiction explores the complexities of human relationships and the challenges we face, in a volume that includes the title story, in which refugees aboard a crowded fishing trawler confront a harrowing choice. A first collection. 50,000 first printing.

The Boat

Trevor Berrett

A great first book of short stories from the young Nam Le. It does not equal Dubliners as some have said, but then again, it shouldn't have to to be enjoyed.
