I'll go through each short story and describe my ratings on them:
Christmas festivites: It's pretty brief but in a way which warms the heart without any longwindedness, it gives a look into how christmas is celebrated, what it does to the people and how life changes around the christmas era. You certainly see many alike parallels from the past and the present in this. 3/5. Rather basic but still touching.
The story of the goblins who stole a sexton: Almost comical and funny; a story of a graveyard digger who was spiteful and unlikeable, who was taught a lesson of gratitude and kindness by a tribe of goblins and their leader. Again, not a difficult story to follow, and quite simple in its meaning. 3.5/5 Funny and easy to understand but nothing special.
A christmas episode from master humphrey's clock: Actually an adorable story of two men who are lonely on christmas, meet and become the best of friends; very heartwarming, and encourages christmas festivites of inviting others into your celebrations. 3.5/5, strong meaning behind it and rather well written.
A christmas carol: Who can ever say anything bad about this story; not too short and not too long, not too brief but not too long winded. A compelling story which, whilst predictable, tells us the important story of how we should be a part of the community around us, and not shut eachother out. An obvious classic for an obvious reason. 5/5
The haunted man & the ghost's bargain, a christmas tree and the seven poor travellers: In all seriousness, these stories confused me. I did not understand the former at all, even after reading chapter 1 twice, and then I ended up finishing it,reading a chapter summary. A christmas tree was rather irrelevant to me, I seriously don't know why these three stories were just so difficult for me to make sense of. I think it might not have even been the writting, just me, so I won't rate them.

I wanted more because I build this story up in my head was disappointed

On reading the passage about the allegorical children Ignorance and Want, the lecturer broke down in tears.

I enjoy Charles Dickens’s short stories more than I do his novels. I love his writing style but I just have a hard time getting into his plots. However, I think there is something to learn in each of his stories and that they show how life was like in Victorian times. I think it is important to read his work!

I didn't like a couple of the shorter ones, but the ones I liked stood out more. His writing is really nice, and I love his descriptions of food and gatherings.

only read a christmas carol.
