So when I first ran across this book, I was interested but not entirely so. So I’ve had this book lurking on my Kindle for about two years or less. But I’ve never really picked it up until a day ago. I’ll say that it was interesting and captivating at first, as I forgot what it was about originally. What I did not expect was the deeper meanings and more seriousness behind the book. I had come into the book, perceiving that it was about a girl that wanted fame and what lured into something she shouldn’t have. Instead, I got a twisted version of that, where she was not wanting the fame. I have to say, though, that the character is quite smart and puts it to use, unlike some of the characters in the book. I’ll also say that the depth that the characters, such a Violet and Cai are astounding. Without giving away any spoilers, I was most surprised by Violet and her actions, as well as how thought out the characters are, author went through for each and every one. It’s quite amazing to see the world lay out with not the scenes around them, but the actions of the characters themselves that make up the entire book. On the plus side, I am a lover of emotional and reaction based things, so for this book was a massive indulgence of mine when the TV was based upon their reactions to situations. It pleased my inner nerd. So I give this book four stars, simply because it was well thought out, the plot was decently original and for sheer keeping the characters on their toes.
