I got invested halfway though, strongly recommend!

If you like queer characters and badass female warriors then this book is definitely worth the read. The concept of this book was so unique, the plot played out really well and the characters were lovable. I loved the poc main characters, the Latin American inspired setting, the complex magic system and all the worldbuilding. Every moment of reading this book felt splendid, I loved Natalia's descriptions of everything, and just the way she wrote this book. I hadn't read another book like this with such a unique and interesting plot / world. I loved the idea of the flowers of prophecy, the danrayan warriors and the interesting culture of the people in this book

This is probably the best book I've ever read and I'm waiting until I can read the second book in this series

I really enjoyed this book! I like the story a lot and love the inclusion of queer characters. The writing is no epic fantasy, but its simplicity allows the grand story to be told in a way that’s fitting for the YA category. I normally stay away from YA because of that, but I actually really liked this one. I’m looking forward to book 2!

There was a lot I wanted to love about the Name Bearer but the writing style, the tropes, the pacing, and grammatical errors that should have been caught before publishing kept me from truly enjoying it the way I wanted to. Plus the ending left much to be desired, I hope the second book ties up some storylines better and I will still be keeping my eyes out for the next flowers of prophecy book!

This was an enjoyable, light read with a lovable cast of characters, interesting plot and a setting based in Latin American roots. There was LGBTQ+ representation, found family tropes and strong warrior women! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I can't wait for book 2!
