"Think Escape Room, meets Saw, meets Battle Royale. That’s what we’re dealing with." Well ain’t that the truth. Maleficium begins where Periculum left off. There was plenty of bloody gore to keep me intrigued and despite the fact that the interactions between Lana and Ciaran was bare minimum, the author has this magical ability to get you fully immersed in the main character's bloody adventure and unlocking the mystery as to why she and her sisters are targeted.

Maleficium: Duo (Devil’s Playground #2) by Natalie Bennett - @authornataliebennett Favorite Horror/Romance series that is unique, dark, gruesome and unpredictable. Maleficium: Duo is more twisted and bloodier than Periculum #1. As much as I wanted more answers and more on the romance department I was fascinated with the characters and background setting in Devil’s Playground. Could not put it down and had me on the edge of my seat. Did not know who I could trust. In love with Lana and Ciaran . Huge girl crush on Lana. She can hold her own and puts everyone first. Secondary characters more involved and already have my couples I am hoping for their stories.

Definitely a step up from the first book. Also, love the stops-right-in-the-middle-of-the-sentence cliffhanger, like wow, could you torture me more. Like a 1 on the spice scale, because there's only one scene. I'm not complaining at all, because the plot just keeps you reeling. Recommended by Kateln Rivera, I'd say so far, mind blown.
