I love everything about this book. It reminds me that sometimes we just need to stop and appreciate the little things. The writing is very friendly. It was written as if you were chatting with a buddy and I love books like that. 

With this review, I'll just list some of my favorite little things that were mentioned in this book. There were quite a bit that I loved and it brought back some good memories but for the purpose of this review, I'll keep it nice and short. 

*seeing a cop on the side of the road and realizing you are going the speed limit anyway.
*picking the perfect nacho off of someone else's plate.
*popping bubble wrap. 
*hitting a bunch of green lights in a row. 
*taking your bra off after wearing it for hours. 
*licking the batter of the beaters of a cake mixer.
*that friendly nod between strangers out doing the same thing. 
*dangling your feet in water. 
*the smell of books (saved the best for last!)

Seriously, pick this book up if you guys are ever having a bad day or just need a pick me up. I promise you will not be disappointed!

Focusing on both tangible pleasures and simple experiences, Pasricha provides a contemporary take on everyday inspiration that skips the typical Chicken Soup for the Soul fare: "When you push the button for the elevator and it's already there," ("Ding!"); "When the boss goes out of town" ("Who's up for a three-hour lunch?"); "Peeling that thin plastic film off new electronics" ("Welcome to the world, remote control"). Other items get more substantial discussions, including the other side of the pillow, old playground equipment, hotel lobby bathrooms, the last day of school, and the five-second rule. Though tongue-in-cheek, Pasricha emerges a committed but inviting optimist, combating life's unending stream of bad news by identifying opportunities to "share a universal high five with humanity."

I love the concept of this book! So positive, so inclusive, so simple. Each tidbit of Awesome comes forward like a warm hug encompassed with cozy memories that leave a smile lingering around the corners of your mouth. I was so caught up with my own reminiscences that I didn't care to distract myself with reading the author's blurbs below each Awesome. Although Neil produced the initiative for this book, I really wonder how he's managed to continue printing his name at the bottom of each cover page, because the entire compilation is drenched in enthusiastic contributions from optimists around the globe. His comments and input are the least enjoyable portion of the book.

I think that this is one of the most charming books I have read in a really long time. I love that you can pick it up whenever you want, you can open the book to any page and read something short and sweet that makes you smile. Now there isn't a whole lot I can tell you beyond the book besides it's a must read. It's something that I found sitting with a bunch of friends and randomly opening the book, everyone taking turns to read a page is now one of the best past times that I can think of now. That memories that people begin to share reading the book. It's not a book you squander. It's something you share with as many people as you know and watch their reaction.
