This book wasn't necessarily bad, but its POC representation was truly lacking and there was a huge opportunity missed. All in all, I was overly disappointed with this book. Wouldn't recommend. thanks to netgalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Another perfect romance to fill my heart with wholesome glee. This is not a masterpiece but it doesn’t have to be. It can be messy and simple and still deserve all the love packed neatly inside. The story follows Evelyn and Seth as they discover that people have more to them then meets the eye. They fall in love with themselves just as they do with their perfectly imperfect partners. I cried a little at the ending, not because it’s said but because they deserve all the happiness that comes their way. This book is there just to make you feel good, just to be able to love for a few pages like they do.

in a sudden moment of clarity, I thought if I could have shown my younger self any glimpse into the future it would have been this one; I would have wiped her tears away, kissed her on the forehead, and told her Look how much better it'll get. You'll find people you won't have to hide from, and you'll fall in love. With her, and with yourself too. Just hold on a little longer. She probably would have never believed it then, just like I wouldnt have believed it if anyone had told me on my first day here that the girl sitting in the windowsill with a cigarette between her fingers and thunderstorm eyes would end up becoming this to me. Now, I leaned in, every touch as natural as breathing, and pressed my lips to the dimple in her cheek, just because a few months ago I wouldn't have known it was there and because I could. "About time!"

“The reason I wrote this was mainly to set a sign for the kids like me. For the kids who are struggling, who are uncertain, who are hiding, who are hurt. For the kids who are diferent than most people and who don't have it easy.” He was silent for a moment, letting his words sink in before he continued. "I want to show you that it's okay. That you, no matter who you are, are not alone, no matter how hopeless things might seem sometimes. That whatever makes you different isn't something you need to be ashamed of, but something to be embraced, to be celebrated. That, if no one has told you yet, I see you--you are valid and so loved. So, this play... well, it's honestly just really fucking gay”

This just made me wanna sob, maybe it’s all the Tiktoks lately of people pretending to talk to their younger self, but it’s such a beautiful thing to know things do become better. It gives me so much hope😭🥺
