I do not understand why I am so enamored with Check, Please! I am not a hockey fan, and generally romance is one of my least favourite things to read about. And yet here I am, being ridiculously happy about a bunch of fictional university students on a sports team. Check, Please is a slice-of-life comic about, as I said, some boys (and a girl) who play hockey and act like the new adults that they are. It's silly, but oddly endearing, and Bittle is too perfect for this world. The comics give readers glimpses at the lives of these characters throughout the year. It's a chill, happy book filled with good things and I'm happy it exists :)

i'm just realizing now that i never added these to my read list from last year! i don't remember when i read them, or much about how i felt anymore but it was definitely a quick and fun read that helped me through a night of insomnia.
