Bittersweet

2.5 ⭐️ rounded up to 3. I’m typically a fan of Nicholas Sparks but this book just fell flat. The two POV’s made me feel like I was reading totally different books. Beverly’s story up until the end felt completely reused (combo of The Lucky One and Safe Haven). And Colby and Morgan’s relationship seemed shallow? Not sure if that’s the right word.. All in all, not my fave.

I thought I knew the characters, the motivations, the fears, the plot- PSYCH!
The last time I cried to a Nicholas Sparks book was when I was 13 and I had just finished The Last Song.
This is no different. I felt deeply for Colby and Morgan. I feared for Beverly and her son. Each story had its moments, whether it was blushing at the goofy charm between Colby and Morgan while they fell in love. Or looking over our shoulder with Beverly and the baby. The way both stories had intertwined and happened simultaneously made every page turn absolutely worth it.
