I don't adore Nicholas Sparks and although this book was kind of good, very touching I do not feel its greatness. Hopefully someday I'll read one of Mr. Spark's books that make me understand his popularity.

Movie better than the book.

I like it more than I like Notebook, and notebook's a classic so-

One of the best books i’ve read in a long time. It made me cry even though a book hasn’t done that in nearly four years. Such an amazing and sweet love story.

This was another tearjerker by Nicholas Sparks, and man it did not disappoint. I found A Walk to Remember to be a very quick read, taking me less than two hours to finish, but not the best of all of his. Either way, it was still a good, quick read that I would recommend to anyone who wants a TFIOS sort of story. The novel was set in the 50s, and did not disappoint in the slow build of a romance I expect from Nicholas Sparks. His view into the love life of two teenagers and their slow build of a relationship was very beautiful and well written. I would have liked a little more action to happen other than just watching a play being made, but it was still very good! Overall, it was not my favorite book nor did it keep me very interested. The fact that it was short and sweet made it very easy to read. Three out of five stars, due to lack of action/entertainment.

Loved it. I think it tells a good story of young love. and it paints a good fantasy to young girls that not all guys just want one thing. It gives young girls hope. I think the plot and description was great.

Movie is better than the book. Jaime is just too perfect; not a fully developed character.

I thought that this book was good when I read it

Sweet but quick read! Loved the religious themes and vintage setting. This was my first Nicholas Sparks read, and I will definitely be reading more! An easy read for sure but I appreciate how simple the plot was, it kept the book streamlined and removed the possibility of plot holes.

Pop Sugar Challenge: - a book that made you cry

Much more "Christian" than the film.

** spoiler alert ** Beautiful Was not able to keep my emotions at bay.

Sad but very good

:(. So so so so so soooooo sad. I watched the movie a couple months ago, thinking "Aw! This is so cute! I love romance movies!" and then ended up eating almost an entire batch of chocolate chip cookies, I was so depressed. The movie, however, does not HOLD A CANDLE to the book. I love this book now and I think this is one prime example of "the book was better". It was. 100%. I'm so annoyed. The characters were completely night and day differences. I am so mAaAd. Anyways. Loved the book. Like LOVEDDD the book. So good. I recommend reading the book before the movie. Yes and thank you.

I’m not surprised I cried again. My second time reading this book & I have to say it was amazing! The words that are just printed on the page is the most amazing feeling. I love him as an author and his stories hold a dear place in my heart. Loved this book, don’t hesitate on reading, but you will cry.

weh.

;(

Absolutely in love with this book. I fell in love with it so quickly, and it's honestly a fast-paced book I finished it within a day. I cried, not going to lie, I cried a lot.

More like a 3.75, so I thought it’d be more fair to round up. One of the very rare instances where I prefer the movie, but I think the ‘50s setting on top of the religious overtones was just a little too much for me. Still teared up at the end, though. VERY easy read, too. Finished it in about a collective two hours or so.

cried lol

“First you will smile, and then you will cry -- don't say you haven't been warned.” My third book that I've read by Nicholas Sparks and I loved it. The ending was heartbreakingly beautiful.

One of some beautiful books I ever read. An amazing love story and I'm sure I'll read another books of this author...

~I know now, you’re my only hope~ (Yes, this song was stuck in my head the entire time I was reading this book. I even stopped in the middle to look up the scene on YouTube.) Everyone knows this story (I think), and of course it will always be sweet and moving and powerful. That being said, I wasn’t expecting it to be as different from the movie as it was, and I have such a strong nostalgia for the movie that it was hard to read all the differences (like, Jamie is supposed to be blond?). My biggest gripe was definitely the writing. I’ve never read a Nicholas Sparks book before, but goodness, I wanted to slap the narrator who incessantly used phrases like “if you know what I mean” and “by the way.” I get that it’s written from the perspective of a teenage boy (please remind me never to read books from teenage boy perspective again), but technically it’s supposed to be a flashback and he’s narrating in his fifties…so he doesn’t have to sound so awful. ANYWAY, that was fun and never again. 🍁 🍃 🍂 2.5 ⭐️
