4.25 stars | I thought this would be about Gamora (and the Guardians) stranded on Earth, but it wasn't and it was so much better than I expected it to be. I'm just sad there wasn't more Nebula 😜

This was a decent series. The story was okay. The artwork, done beautifully by Marco Checchetto, was what I most enjoyed, to be honest. This Gamora feels stale and watered down compared to my favorite version of her, from the Dan Abnett GotG run. I will never be a fan of this new abusive father/resentful daughter take on Gamora and Thanos' relationship, and I hated the reminders of it in this series. The original dynamic of their relationship, which was complicated and sometimes agonistic, but also respectful and even a little loving, was much more complex and compelling than...whatever the hell Marvel is doing now. I give it three stars because while I don't care for (or even hate) most of these characterizations, the artwork is too beautiful to ignore and really improved my experience, and it actually was a lot better than I expected, as I went in with low expectations. Not the best it could have been, but certainly not the worst!
