An Innocent Vet

Ruan Oates is a young Cornish vet in Berkshire who rescues Claire Harper and her horse from a road accident on a crowded motorway. Weeks later cattle-rustlers enter his life and change it forever. These two events seem unconnected but they introduce Ruan to a frightening underworld of murder, kidnapping and illegal activity that the young man could never have envisaged during his training to become a country vet. With his life spiralling out of control and murder round every corner... or so it seems... Ruan's life changes tack. Using both his farming and veterinary skills in the search for answers, he finds himself taking on several new roles which lead him through France and southern England. Helped by friends, he finally discovers the tragic reason behind the deaths in a conclusion that transforms his view of the quiet English countryside.
