All the beauty of a Nicholas Sparks book, but in a fast paced read

Another incredible work by Nicholas Sparks that has successfully impressed me. In this novel, Nicholas Sparks managed to make me curious about what's happening until the last minute. He reveal things little by little, making me so curious and anticipating what's coming next.

The story is about Adrienne -a woman with 3 children, left by her husband because of another woman - and Paul Flanner - a 54-year-old-man, left by his wife and son for being a workaholic. They both met in Rodanthe, where Paul was staying and Adrienne was helping her friend to watch the place. The way they fell in love is beautifully described, but however, not every love story has a happy ending.. :(

The one thing I regret is buying the edition with the movie cover on it. Paul was described as a really great man with mesmerizing features, but then I saw Richard Gere on the cover and all the imagination just melts away (i'm sorry i'm not a big fan of Richard Gere - and i haven't seen the movie yet)..

Anyway, overall this book is great, not disappointing :) I hope Nicholas Sparks will never stop writing great books.

Adrienne Willis is 45 and has been divorced for three years, abandoned by her husband for a younger woman. The trials of raising her teenage children and caring for her sick father have worn her down, but at the request of a friend and in hopes of respite, she's gone to the coastal village of Rodanthe in North Carolina to tend the local inn for the weekend. With a major storm brewing, the time away doesn't look promising...until a guest named Paul Flanner arrives. At 54, Paul is a successful surgeon, but in the previous six months his life has unraveled into something he doesn't recognize. Estranged from his son and recently divorced, he's sold his practice and his home and has journeyed to this isolated town in hopes of closing a painful chapter in his past. Adrienne and Paul come together as the storm brews over Rodanthe, but what begins between them over the weekend will resonate throughout the rest of their lives, intertwining past and future, love and loss.

Ein typisches Buch von Nicholas Sparks.

Es geht unter die Haut, lässt die Augen feucht werden und regt doch zum Nachdenken an. Denn was, was ist wahre Liebe ?
