Then I look up and pull his head towards mine, staring into the endless depths of his eyes.

“I remember,” I whisper softly against his lips.

“You and I are forever. We are inevitable, Lor. I’m the Aurora Prince and 

 are the fucking Heart Queen. This son of a bitch will not stop us.”

I once told Lor I’d follow her into the fires of the Underworld if that’s what it took. I never expected to mean that literally.

“I love you,” he says into my mouth. “I love you, Lor. Tomorrow, I will lay down my life, my crown, and my heart, and I will be yours forever.”

“Then what do you want, Final Tribute?”

“You know, you could stop calling me that,” I say. “I am literally a queen.”

Gabriel snorts. “I don’t see a crown on your head.”

“Nadir!” I scream again, needing to feel his name on my tongue.

“Lor!” comes his voice, and I’ve never heard anything so beautiful in my life.

Then he materializes through the dim light, running towards me, and my heart nearly stops.

“Nadir,” I choke out. “Nadir . . .”

We crash into one another at top speed. He picks me up, wrapping me in his arms as my legs circle his hips. We spin around and around, squeezing one another so tight that I fear we might shatter.

“She’s like the sun, and everything else is just the stars lucky to be moving around her.”

I rub my chest and the constant ache that blooms behind my ribs. I miss Lor like I miss air. I want to hold her in my arms and bury my nose in the scent of her hair. Inhale that combination of roses and lightning that always makes me feel like I’ve come home. I miss her skin and those eyes that see me in a way no one else ever has. I miss that mouth and her sarcasm, and I’d give anything to have her yell at me right now.

“Lor?” Zerra says with a breathy laugh. “That silly girl?” The way she says it makes me want to commit an act of violence. Maybe upend this whole table, food and dishes and all. Except that seems too mild a reaction.

She’s the epitome of a warrior queen if I ever saw one, and I already love her. Even if she’s looking at me like she wants to pick me up and toss me over the balcony.

This book was absolutely too chaotic. The magic and coinciding objects were confusing and poorly defined, the villains were shoehorned in at the last minute and then essentially dealt with with a wave of a hand, and I didn’t believe the main romance. This book was also filled with at LEAST 10 filler chapters which only served to rehash information we’d already been told in prior books, and honestly Gabriel’s pov was completely unnecessary. I was constantly frustrated or bored most of this book and ended up reading it on 2x-3x speed most of the time. 

Katie Allard

This series is incredibly underrated. The world was built so well and is so easy to understand. The characters were so good and you genuinely want to see it all come through. I loved all of these books and this one really just tied it all together. I think being able to read them all back to back had my rating for them all. It gave you a good mix of romance and fantasy throughout and all of the characters all added to the overall plot. I really enjoyed this series so much and am so glad to have read it and will for sure read it again in the future.

This series is incredibly underrated. The world was built so well and is so easy to understand. The characters were so good and you genuinely want to see it all come through. I loved all of these books and this one really just tied it all together. I think being able to read them all back to back had my rating for them all. It gave you a good mix of romance and fantasy throughout and all of the characters all added to the overall plot. I really enjoyed this series so much and am so glad to have read it and will for sure read it again in the future. 

When we left Lor I was completely broken.  I couldn't believe what had just happened.  I was dreading how to finish the series without wanting to throw the book at the wall if certain things did not happen!

Thankfully all has been rectified in my little world and Lor and her family get the ending they all deserve.  There are allies won and lost, new friendships formed, and families are reunited.

Nadir and Lor have been #couplegoals since book 1, even though at times I worried just how they were going to get that HEA. I have loved getting to know Ouranos, the various kingdoms and queendoms.  The world is really well described without being totally bogged down and the mythology of the world was new to me and I really enjoyed seeing that Gods can be a*holes too!

Lor has been an amazing character to see grow throughout the books.  She has overcome so much and is deserving of all the good things in life.  She can be sly, sarky, stubborn to the point of insanity but she is also brave, loving and determined.

The spice is spicing and the action scenes don't get overlooked - the romance and action are equally well depicted.  #Did I have a giggle at the little #soapgate in-joke - why yes, yes I did!

It's sad to leave this series.  It has been an absolute dream - it was so refreshing where the main characters are not pasty like me, they are vibrant, colourful and unabashedly themselves.  The LGBTQIA characters aren't stereotypes and are just as wonderful as the main couple.  My only grumble was I wanted to see into the future and see who Lor is now that she has peace!
