A fast-paced thriller for fans of X-Files and Stranger Things. I don’t want to share too much and risk spoilers. There were so many great twists. My one note is that I wish a few more of the weird goings on had gotten an explanation once Riley solves the case.

Content notes: hallucinations, memory loss/gaps, references to car accidents, death of a parent, brief medical content.

As suspenseful as this book was, No Beauties or Monsters failed to hit the mark and was a book I considered shelving too many time. Slow-paced and full of twists (some a little unnecessary), the book failed to leave me stunned and just seemed to cramp all the action and answers into the final chapters.
