I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of this for epic reads and I love it it kept me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning and I ended up finning I’m in one sitting I loved everything about this book the plot the characters how it was told most through letters with some text and news reports and statements from other camps sprinkled in there if you want a good quick mystery novel then this is a great option. this book will destroy you

Nobody Knows But You focuses on the mystery surrounding the death of a camper on the eve of the last day of camp. Lainie, the victim's on-again/off-again girlfriend stands accused. Kayla, her devoted best friend, is holding onto Lainie's secrets as well as her own and what everyone wants to know is, did Lainie do it?

The story takes place a few months after the murder and is told through a series of letters written by Kayla, news reports, interview transcripts, and text messages. While I think that this was an interesting writing style, some of it fell a bit flat for me. Kayla's letters had started to get a bit monotonous. I personally would've liked to read scenes from their time at summer camp as flashbacks, so that we could hear Kayla's feelings in real-time as opposed to her recalling them afterward, and then had the letters be present tense. In my opinion that would've added a bit more variety to the writing style and would've helped it to feel less stagnant at times

While I found the story interesting, I also found it a bit predictable. At the start of the book the way things are phrased it is easy to assume that Lainie is the camper who has been murdered, but then a few chapters in you discover that Lainie is, in fact, alive and it was Jackson who has been murdered. I will say that I was actually surprised when that reveal came because it was all pointing in the other direction, and because of how quickly the reveal came. I then found myself asking, "then what is the big plot twist?" This is when the book became a bit predictable for me, the "big plot twist" I ended up guessing a few chapters later.

I feel that there could've been more development with some of the characters, as well as their motives, but overall I thought it was a nice quick read and easy to follow.

I really liked the concept of this book. The the story is given from one perspective, and is written mostly in letter format. There is also inserts of newspaper articles, court transcript, and news clips. Kayla is the narrator in this story, and she is writing letters to her friend ( Lainie, who she never send the letters too) who was she bff with during summer camp. Lainie is in this abusive and toxic relationship with this boy named Jackson. Things come to head when someone is found dead two days before camp ends. The readers don't know if its Lainie or Jackson that is the victim at first . This is the classic who dunnit plot. This was a one-day read for me, there aspects of the book I really enjoyed. I was going to give this book a four star, but I went down to a 3.5 as I thought more about it. I do like the messanging on abusive relationships and those types of relationships affect other relationships. I think that this book was more on Kayla/Lainie more then anything. They formed this friendship at the begging of the story, and we Lainie bring Kayla out of her shell ( Kayla is more anti-social in this). But slowly you start seeing cracks in their friendship even before Jackson came along. Those cracks just got wider as the story progressed in this, until it shattered at the end. Kayla thinks that Lainie was obsessed with Jackson, which maybe she was, but she doesn't see her own obsession for Laine. I think that Lainie, definitley knew that Kayla was obsessed with her and she used it to her own advantage and kind of lead Kayla on, then rebuking her at the end. I kind of wish that this story had more then one POV. I think it would have brought this story out even more. I was kind of disapointed by who the killer was, but as I'm thinking about it, it was kind of fitting and does make sense. If you want to read a short murder mystery, I suggest this one.
