I only finished because dad bought it

i didn't once binge 13 seasons of criminal minds back to back to not love this

3.5! So fun! Exactly what I wanted to read the weekend before Halloween! Absolutely dripping in horror and thrill. I loved Emma and Bell, loved the twisted Simon and his effervescent sister Kristen. I couldn’t put it down!

emma and travis shoulda ended up together idk and sorry simon kinda fine

4.5 — “how can some men hate so hard?” ugh increíble

Not what I was expecting. As a huge fan of Criminal Minds and Young Adult books, the premise seemed promising. Two teenagers were asked to join a program in the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the FBI as sort of interns. Seemed like it would be a good read. But everything went downhill after a few chapters. Nothing about this book excited me. And the characters were bland. Meh.

Do you like true crime? Read this. Do you enjoy FBI procedurals? Read it. Do you like slow-building realistic tension between two characters? This is for you. Do you like slightly past-placed books set in the 80s? Done. Do you get hype over really well done audio books? Boom. Basically: read this.

My god this was good!!!

A great YA thriller, very entertaining and fast-paced. I didn't think it was as scary as some of the blurbs let on, but it did have some creepy/disturbing moments.

All I gotta say is…Hannibal has ruined me. I am apparently attracted to serial killers?? I think I need therapy. ANYWAYSSS this book was pretty damn good!! The ending was pretty wild and the plot was definitely worthwhile BUT it was so focused on plot that the characters felt pretty 2D. When I was first reading the book I was kind of struggling because it read almost like a movie. While the plot really helped it move forward, the characters and their development felt like it was on the back burner. Which honestly is sad because they had such amazing potential!! Especially Emma and Travis!! But despite all this, it was a really great story and I’m happy I finally read it after having it on my self for months. Solid 4/5 🌟

damn this was so good it’s going to be hard to top this one for me… full review to come

good but kinda boring af some parts.

How can this be an YA? If you liked the series or book Mindhunter, this one it's for you! And also if you love true crime, mistery and thrillers. Two teenagers get headhunted by the FBI to conduct a series of interviews to teenagers serial offenders. But what will happen when one of the criminals gives them the key to one active case? Oh boy! This delivers well. Believe me, you should read it. At first it's a bit slow but, as you reach the middle, the story starts to develop quickly and with such intensity that you won't put the book down. It will make feel like you're there with Emma and Travis-which can be a bit creepy but we're here for the experience any way. 4.5/5

i’m never critical of actual writing because i know i’m the last person to have an opinion but jeez, it was a struggle.

Unpopular opinion, but I really didn't like this one. I started on the audiobook for the first 3rd, but switched to the ebook so I could skip ahead. There was no feel of it being set in the 80s, Simon was a poor man's Hannibal. Just nothing exciting or new here.

I loved it! Even if it's targeted for teen audiences, I really enjoyed reading this book. It was equal parts thrilling and intriguing; and just what I was hoping in a book about a teenagers investigating serial killers. Once I started reading it I was unable to put down the book. I am really waiting for Ellie Marney's next book.

I'm honestly stunned that more people haven't read this absolute banger! This is a truly masterful new adult/YA thriller. Think 1980's American "Good Girl's Guide to Murder" crossed with Silence of the Lambs. The writing is excellent, story/mystery is absolutely riveting... And the characters are truly excellent. You really connect with Emma and Travis, and Simon is so sickeningly fascinating. I'll be recommending this to everyone and their mother. If you're on the fence about picking this one up, DO IT.

None Shall Sleep is gruesome and one of my favorites of the year. I heard this book's comparison to Sadie and Silence of the Lambs in an 80s setting and I put aside all of my TBRs, currents reads and got this one going. I knew this story and I could see steps ahead. And I could not stop reading! I love serial killer stories, complicated women, and men who respect strong women. I read it in a little over a day and I already miss Emma and Bell. Whoever's in charge of Netflix programming and the algorithm, more like this. I want more young women facing off against serial killers, more smart stories about terrible things. I really enjoyed this book.

I did have high hopes for this, but as I read on I just grew indifferent about what was happening and when I felt anything it was a flare of genuine irritation for how stupid everyone was. Actually the whole second half of the book just lost me. Everything and everyone suddenly left their brains at the office and went out to try and catch a serial killer. I’m sorry but seriously how incompetent can law enforcement be. I know that stupid law enforcement isn’t a new concept to anyone, but if you’re dealing with a prolific serial killer I’d think that you’d have some sense to check all the leads, like any of the leads. I’m just frustrated. I am on a #FuckRaymond tirade from now until forever. He was just a dick overall. And don’t even get me started on Emma and Travis. I know that they are teenagers, but you’d think that they would use some common sense. Travis is supposed to be actively training to become a fully fledged law enforcement officer and Emma is meant to have at least some sense of self preservation with her own history. What was the point and why were these two disgustingly underqualified TEENAGERS even recruited. Cooper kept making a big hurrah to everyone about them when realistically they didn’t even do the job they were asked to do in the first place, butted their heads into an active investigation they had no clearance to know about and gave me a massive headache. Also just the whole Simon thing... eh? I know that these interactions between Emma and Simon were meant to be this huge teenage mastermind killer meeting his equal in Emma, but it was all so hollow in the end. Simon felt like a caricature of what the author thought a mastermind teen killer would be and Emma barely felt like a character by that point. There was no tension with them and no chemistry. Pradeep had more chemistry with the grabber tool in my opinion. I can’t give this any less than two stars because I was enjoying the first half of this book, yet there’s only so much I can tolerate when it comes to stupid characters and it was a miracle I got through that last part. I’m disappointed because this could have been amazing.

I had no idea when I first picked this up it was very Silence of the Lambs/Hannibal inspired but when It hit me I absolutely ate it up. At first I wasn’t too sure because I’ve found police POVs are not my favorite, but the way it’s from a teenagers POV working with law enforcement kept me hooked and I’m glad it did. 4.5 stars! Would definitely recommend!

** spoiler alert ** None Shall Sleep is a suspenseful crime thriller that pulls you in from the start & keeps you on the edge of your seat!! Ellie Marney is now on my auto-buy list. The novel was extremely well written and once I started I didn’t want to put it down. Our protagonists, Emma Lewis and Travis Bell, are likable characters with their own flaws. They both have traumatic past and I just adored watching their relationship and trust grow throughout the book. However, the dynamic between the Emma and the incarcerated serial killer, Simon Gutmunsson, was my favourite part of the book. I loved seeing them interact with each other and the battle of the wits that would ensue. Honestly, Simon was probably my favourite character, I found him so intriguing and would love a book from his point of view!! This book does deal with some tough subjects and situations. From descriptive crime scenes, to Emma’s memories of being abducted and held by a serial killer, this book is not for the feint of heart! I do, however, highly recommend this books to everyone. Especially lovers of mystery’s, thrillers & serial killers!! I received this book in exchange for an honest review, this has in no way affected my thoughts or opinions . Thank you to the author, Ellie Marney, and the publisher, Allen & Unwin, for this opportunity

Oh my god. One, if not THE best book I've read all year. That was amazing. I need to own this book immediately, it has rendered me incapable of rational speech but just know that you must read this immediately!!! This is how you write a thriller. I'm lost for words truly but this was so gripping, realistic, emotional and haunting.

had never really read a thriller book before, usually i gravitate to mystery, but this book was definitely a worthwhile read.

Captivating, harrowing, and chilling, None Shall Sleep is an all-too-timely exploration of not only the monsters that live among us, but also the monsters that live inside us. Review: This was a well done book for the most part. I liked the pacing of it and I thought the book did well to craft a creepy mood around it. The world building was amazing and I really liked the concept of it and the plot. However, the MCs were not developed and their backstories weren’t ever really explained. I would have really liked to have known about the more beyond the cliffnotes that the book provides. The book also feels like an older than YA book rather than YA book. The writing was kinda weird and the book is a bit unrealistic, but overall fascinating from a psychological standpoint. Verdict: Well done thriller!
