Daughter of a cold, controlling mother and an anonymous donor, teenage Elizabeth finally let loose one night, drinking too much and allowing a seductive Russian to lure her to a house on Lake Shore Drive. Twelve years later, the designer of sophisticated security systems now known as Abigail Lowery lives alone on the edge of a small Ozarks town--a loner who says little and reveals nothing.
