Not Your Average Hot Guy

Had the makings of a good story, but the writing was poor quality. Way too much focus placed on trivial descriptions (the first introduction of Luke’s POV should not start with a description of a desk that has no baring on the plot or setting!) and Author couldn’t seem to decide if there characters were narrating directly to the reader or not. If you’re going to break the fourth wall, you have to go all in or it gets confusing. Plot held potential but the way the writer chose to execute it was too bad to finish.

it was a cute and witty rom-com, but was kind of predictable by the end. i liked how it ended and leaves room for the next book to pick up at.

If you’re looking for a romance that’s fun and a little bit ridiculous this is for you. It’s definitely more plot than romance driven, and you really just need to go with the flow and not think too hard in order to enjoy it. I just never truly connected with the characters here, but I’m interested in picking up book 2.

This book was all over the place. A never ending roller coaster. I found myself wanting to skip pages just to be done with it. Not even that deep in Callie’s “best friend” Mag pretend that none of it even happened in the beginning!?!? Not the best friend support We needed! Not to mention the whole “hey I’ve been banging your brother bomb just dropped on us. Also don’t even get me started on how many obstacles we had to go though just for Callie to find out who Nick actually is!!!!!! I loved when Nick and Callie first met though so I will give credit to that scene, overall part favorite of the whole book. SKIPPING OVER THE SMUT SCENES I WAS BAFFLED!!!

I truly was disappointed with this book. I truly expected a Halloween theme romance book to read for the spooky season, but yet I was left confused. I could not get over the character's naive personality or the lack of chemistry. I just could not get into this book. It was not for me. Maybe for someone else but not me.

This is like Buffy meets Little Nicky (If Nicky was a babe). I really liked the characters, the plot, and the overall story but it seemed pretty light on the romance for a book being marketed as a romance .

Additionally, I really could have done with out the HP references. Mentioning that she's problematic doesn't mean it's okay to keep talking about HP. It's 2021, not every book needs to reference Harry Potter. 

I will definitely pick up the sequel to see what happens.
