I thought a lot about what to write in regards to this particular book. Because I wanted to write something.

The first being that I would like to say that this is filled with triggers. Of all kind, but I would like to give a HUGE trigger warning for suicidal thoughts. And I mean it, do not read this book if you're affected by this kind of content. I mean it.

That being said, the writing of Teller is extremely strong and impactful. It makes you think and horrifies you. A particular chapter with the character Sophie actually made me close the book for a few minutes.

Personally, I came across this story in a conversation with a friend. Her sister is majoring in psychology and mentioned this book being discussed in class. Its background made me interested in it and it actually took me over a year to find a copy. I finished reading this last night. This is a rather small one and it almost took me 3 days to read it. That's how much it made me uncomfortable.

However, it is a brilliant story and a very simple one. It contains a lot of meaning, curiously so having the plotline around the fact that a kid believes nothing matters. This was a good read.

i wanted to know why this book is forbidden in some countries haha - it’s written to be easily read in one go, and although its ‘simple’, it made me think about so many things, about the meaning of everything and even as far as question it. in that way, it’s kind of heavy.. but it stayed on my mind for a long time.
