Holy shi- it was amazing. This book will probably be in my top three favorite MM romances in 2023 for sure, if not top two. This book was one of my most anticipated books of the year and I was definitely not disappointed. Nyla K said the book will be thick, seven hundred pages thick, and let me tell you I devour it in two days. My eyes literally burn, I couldn’t put it down. The amount of highlights I did- I should be embarrassed about it, because probably every page is highlighted.

I was pretty scared there will be stuff I don’t actually like reading about, because Nyla K is known for writing some crazy books (which some of them I will definitely never read), but this book was actually pretty "normal" as much as you can call it like that. There was one MMF scene which is something I usually hate in books. It’s not that it was MMF, but I don’t like sharing and threesoms, where the book is about two people. But in this case, this scene was actually quite important, because you could say that it started the whole arrangement that our main characters will make later. It was also pretty short, and Avi and Ky were so focused on each other that the third person felt like they weren't even present there. 

I like that there was a few chapters where we could see the two main characters before they met, and we didn't jump straight into the plot. There are a few time skips where we see the dynamic between Avi and Kyran from their first meeting all the way to college where the action really kicks off. I really don't want to write spoilers here, but the plot mainly evolves between them creating OnlyFans to make some money because of their situation. That's all I'll say, because it's really worth reading, and spoilers will spoil all the fun.

I don’t remember the last time I read a book with enemies to lovers where they were seriously enemies to lovers. Avi and Kyran were one of the best I read about in a long time and probably the best in every MM romance book I read. The angst- just wow. I don't usually read books with a step-sibling trope, because I'm not the biggest fan of them, but this book made me question my preferences. Spoiler. Probably because they stopped being them at the end, which, to be honest, I was glad about. 

The chemistry between them was off the charts, I can’t even describe it in words. They were both so hot and crazy, or more like obsessed, with each other that once they started, they couldn't keep their hands off each other. The intimate scenes were amazing, and you will be surprised who is the more dominant one here. The jealousy and "You are mine and only mine" moments were probably my favorite, because well, they always are.

The main characters, Avi and Kyran made me fell all sorts of emotions, I was laughing, swooning, crying, smiling, blushing and a lot more. The way they hated each other and at the same time they were really possessive (which I freaking love, it’s the hottest thing ever) made me love them even more. I was basically melting during their cute and cozy moments. It's a long journey for them to be like this, but trust me, it's so worth it.

Let's move on to our main characters, because they both stole my heart.

Avi a tattoo artist obsessed with Twizzlers, weed and junk food. An emo kid, as Kyran liked to describe him, and a boy who smiled all the time and tried to figure it out his life. His character was so fun and fresh to read about. I could relate to him in so many ways, so that's probably one of the main reasons why I liked him so much. This man also completely shocked me, although I had some suspicions that he might be a freak in the sheets. 

Kyran or "Ky" quarterback number 9, perfectionist, with his entire future planned out, "straight", exercise obsessed and the drive-in and horror movie lover. This man was an angel, just wait and see. I freaking adore him. He went through many things in his life that he hid from people, because showing weakness was unacceptable. I was crying so hard when he revealed what happened to him. I was beyond happy that with Avi's help he could embrace his true self and his sexuality because inside he was the sweetest and gentlest boy with the biggest heart. 

The side characters were amazing too, Avi’s mom, Zeb, Guty (I love him and if Nyla decides to write a book about him, I'll be first in line to read it), Frankie (their biggest supporter, you will see), Micah, Bea, Theo and Bridget (the biggest supporter number two). 


The ending was pure perfection, everything ended as I expected. When I read the epilogue, I was honestly sad because I didn't want this book to end. I would easily read a second book about Avi and Kyran if I could.
