Vincent Charles Brownstone III (AKA Vin) is not the arrogant, insufferable, unemotional playboy he was when he left his family years before. But when a job with FUR drags him back to London, he is forced reassume that dreaded elitist mantle to go undercover and find some missing shifters. He literally bumps into a female who makes his heart beat erratically but she wants nothing to do with him. But little does he know he's about to get a whole lot closer to the tempting little human! She is his inside "man" on his investigation and they are thrown together when they are both selected to take part in a ballot to make arranged matings due to falling numbers. She may not be a were but her Uncle is and she has been steeped in the paranormal world. But all she wants is to find her missing friend. They may be drawn together but will she still want Vin when she finds out the part he played in their family tragedy? Vin is brilliant as the reformed (mostly) bad boy! He is no longer such a schmuck! He has a heart hidden under all that muscle and he knows what he wants. He's more than happy mixing business with pleasure. With a wonderful back story that explains Vins drive and determination to right the world. Story moves at a fair clip but you don't get lost at breakneck speed. Witty banter and great characterisation!
