Olivie Blake

The much-anticipated final instalment in Olivie Blake's trilogy that began with the New York Times bestselling phenomenon, The Atlas Six.

The Atlas Complex

tracy

mad respect on how to end a series (although i didn't like it.)

Really well-written but it got so slowww in the middle. I had to leave the book for months before I could come back to it.

That being said, Tristan’s multiverse chapter was one of my absolute favourites. I could tell the author had a lot of fun writing it; I only wish the rest of the book could’ve shared some of that same spark.

An explosive return to the library leaves the six Alexandrians lethally vulnerable to the terms of their recruitment, driving the fractured alliances to opposing strategies. While those who remain with the archives wrestle with the ethics of their astronomical abilities, an unlikely partnership seeks to influence politics on a global stage.

While each member of the erstwhile cohort does what it takes to secure their place on the board, the outside world mobilizes to destroy them, and the Caretaker himself, Atlas Blakely, may yet succeed with a plan foreseen to have world-ending stakes. It’s a race to survive as the six Society recruits are faced with the question of what they're willing to betray for limitless power―and who will be destroyed along the way.

The important thing is that it ended and it was true to the other books in that I didn’t love it or hate it, and the characters kinda bugged me the whole time. Which was how I felt about the other books too. I know some people hated the last book. I am not one of them because like it needed an ending and this made sense. One of the least satisfying dark academia series I have ever read, wouldn’t read it again but I also was glad I read it because it WAS creative an interesting. So, straight down the middle. 3 stars.

far too often fiction is regarded as inferior to non fiction in regards to addressing societal issues, but with this crowning piece of her Atlas trilogy Olivie Blake powerfully demonstrates why that is a mistake. the Atlas Complex is not only a thrilling and well written ending to the story of the Alexandrian Society, but also a compelling investigation of humans and the choices we make. by introducing the reader to the thoughts and reasonings of a variety of different people, Blake allows the reader to experience various societal as well as personal issues through the eyes of another. with this feature Blake showcases the fiction genre’s unique ability to foster empathy and understanding for others, which I believe to be crucial in order solve the problems of our world.

This hurt my brain. This is way too philosophical for me. Parisa, Nicogideon and Novacaine were all I cared about passed a certain point…

I cannot think of a better way for this trilogy to end. While it ripped my heart out (a little) and chewed it up, it's exactly the kind of ending this series needed. I loved every second of it.

*It also has one of the best author acknowledgements I've ever read.

like. the afterward made me emotional and it looks beautiful on my shelf but when i got 35% in and it was just Vibes. when one character started INSISTING on how she was changed rather than showing us how she was changed. when the relationships started getting overly defined when they were perfectly fine without being so laid out. when we got to the character deaths.

i'm familiar with olivie blake and have been a fan of hers since the ao3 fic days, but woof dude. this was certainly some words in a book. i think if the overarching theme was to question power and the philosophical question of existence, then i do not think that it did it well. this book is 90% exposition and 10% action. which is a shame because the second book was such a redeemer for the series. this was just. nothing.

The book was good, but I think that it having been months since I read the first two negatively impacted my experience with this one. My one Big Gripe is that the forced proximity/found family combo fell apart except for some people. I think that the ideas the book explores is interesting though, and the last line was a great response to me reading the final chapter and asking myself ‘what a the author trying to say about the truth of the world?’

The much-anticipated final installment in Olivie Blake's trilogy that began with the New York Times bestselling phenomenon, The Atlas Six. Only the extraordinary are chosen. Only the cunning survive. In this stunning finale, it's a race to survive as the Society recruits are faced with the question of what they're willing to betray for limitless power—and who will be destroyed along the way. fuuuucccckkkkk. Olivie Blake, you have ruined all other authors for me. Great ending to a great series. My heart is ripped into a thousand tiny little pieces!! A must-read if you love character-driven stories (and musings about life). Gonna be thinking about this for a while!!

I read this book half out of spite because I trudged through the other two, and the other half out of hope that this book would have a good pay off with an interesting ending. But that’s not what happened for me. 350+ pages of insufferable people sitting around talking about insufferable things and repeating the same plot points to different insufferable characters with a little action thrown in here and there. I did not care about a single character out of the ever growing number of characters. The question I walked away with after finishing this book was: what was the point of the trilogy? This book tries very hard to be smart, but it only managed to be tedious for me. Why was it so long. What was the reason.

The characters are all flawed, and you want to scream at them through. But this gives them a realness I find hard to imagine from any other book I've read. I love to hate them so damn much! And would really love to throttle some of them (looking at you Libby Rhodes).

But Olivie Blake's incoherent rambling writing style is like music to my heart! The intelligence, the indecipherable logic of it all speaks to my little academia loving heart, and I'm going to miss this series for that alone!

ONLY THE EXTRAORDINARY ARE CHOSEN
ONLY THE CUNNING SURVIVE

An explosive return to the Library leaves the six Alexandrians vulnerable and facing the lethal terms of their recruitment. As the initiates devise opposing strategies to circumvent the deadly bargain they've failed to uphold, old alliances fracture. Those who remain within the Society's archives wrestle with the ethics of their astronomical abilities; elsewhere, an unlikely Alexandrian pair partner to influence global politics, while the outside world mobilizes to destroy them.

The society Caretaker himself, Atlas Blakely, may succeed at a plan with world-ending stakes. It's a race to survive as the six Society recruits are faced with the question of what they're willing to betray for limitless power - and who will be destroyed along the way.
