Reviews

Omens Bite is book two in the Sisters of Salem series and picks right up after the events of book one. Mercy and Hunter are twins left in charge of guarding the five gates to hell that are within their small town. However, after the first book, their relationship isn’t what it was and to be honest, both characters are very unlikeable in this book but I feel like that’s the point. They’re both going through things and both see their side as the right one to be on, they are after all, sixteen years old and are bound to make mistakes.
The prose to this book is somewhat lacking, there’s nothing fancy and reads very young which is why I gave it 3.5/5 stars. However, I gave it that rating because overall, I did enjoy the story and read it fairly quickly for someone who’s a slow reader.
Would I compare this story to a book like Serpent & Dove? No. BUT, if you’re a fan of stories (or movies) like Practical Magic, you might really enjoy this one! It’s a simple and easy witchy read for when you want to read a fantasy that’s not so heavy!
For fans of:
- Practical Magic
- Witchy reads
- Younger styled prose
- Hot Demi-Gods
- Jerks getting what they deserve
