I’m excited – although a little bit behind – to say that I’VE FINALLY read a KARINA HALLE NOVEL! Woo! Support Canadian Authors! I know it’s taken me a long time to pick up one of her novels, and I apologize. I wish I could read or write faster so I could read more books in a year; that would help!

I know originally you’re supposed to read Sins and Needles first in the Artists Trilogy, however, I decided I wanted to read the series in order, so I started with the novella On Every Street, which takes place before the first book.

The only thing I knew about this series was the hype, and if everyone is reading it, it must be good (that logic). I hadn’t read the blurb, or knew what the story was about, I just figured support Canadian authors and give the series a shot. It looked sexy enough! This prequel to the Artists Trilogy was definitely STEAMY and very SEXY but also had its moments….
 
After a con had gone bad when she was young, Ellie Watt has been secretly plotting revenge on the man who took something from her, something she’ll never get back. After deciding to change her name to Eden White, she goes undercover and tries to get in with someone who’ll get her into that man’s inner circle. Her mark, Javier. What she didn’t expect was to fall for him, and overtime the lines between reality and the lie start to blur together, keeping her from her revenge.
 
I was HIGHLY IMPRESSED and surprised with the simplicity and emotion-filled journey this novella sent me on. At first the beginning seemed a little vague with Ellie referring to her old life and being all secretive, as if the reader wasn’t supposed to know what sort of life she lived. She kept referring to this man, and this ‘thing’ that happened and I kept thinking, “Am I going to find out what happened?”. Eventually all my questions were answered and the bulk of the story really did make up for my confusion in the beginning.
 
Somewhere in the back of my mind I wonder what it would be like to drop everything and be someone else. A clean slate, a restart. For Ellie, or Eden, it’s for a con; she has to be this perfect someone, to attract her mark in order to get into the inner circle and get her revenge. I wonder though if sometimes it is easy to get carried away with your new identity and forget who you were, because often times being someone else is much easier.
 
Another thing I VERY MUCH LIKED was the steaminess of the novella. Short, simple and oh so savoury. Where have these books been most of my life! I wonder if it’s sad that all it takes for me to be wowed is a man, preferably tattooed, with a big heart, who’s committed, charming, funny, attentive, and who treats me right… Apparently that’s too much to ask these days. I’m not going to try to sell Javier to you, but I will say he is HOT, SEXY, SUAVE, and DANGEROUS BEYOND BELIEF.
 
He nodded, cool and confident. He sat back in his chair and drummed his fingers on his leg, watching me so closely, too closely.
 “I think you’ll look back at this in a few years and you’ll know what I know.”
 “And what’s that?” I asked, forgetting everything I’d been planning to do, just so completely and utterly enthralled.
 “You’ll have to find out for yourself. Better yet, I can get you started. This Friday.”
 My face must have looked blank because he went on with a wry smile, “I’m going to take you out on a date.”
 
There were times when I was scared for Eden; where I could feel her pain and her heartbreak, and I can understand that those emotions aren’t always easily conveyed through an author’s writing. Halle makes it scary, and real, and I think that’s what amazes me the most. I felt Eden’s madness and I felt parts of her just slip away.
 
I’m glad read On Every Street before Sins and Needles; I like knowing a characters back-story a little before starting the novel. I wonder how Sins and Needles is going to play out, considering I have no idea what the series is about, but I’m really excited to see where Ellie’s life takes her.

OMG!! Do not read if you like HEA endings. This is one of those novels you are either going to love it or hate it. For me I loved it. I am still in shock by how freakin amazing On Every Street was. Karina Halle is an amazing story teller that had me balling my eyes out towards the end. Wow! What a intense and freakin-fantastic read. Karina Halle has an amazing writing voice and sure knows how to throw in a little something I never saw coming. Not many authors can do what she did and pull it off but she did. If it was not for the amazing writing style that got me feeling what the characters were feeling, I would of not liked how it ended. I was right there smiling, crying and getting all hot an bothered with Ellie and Javier. I would of mostly likely been a tad upset. But she sucked me in from the beginning with a good, refreshing plot, likable and realistic characters. 

On Every Street is a Prequel to Sins & Needles. I have yet to read Sins & Needles since On Every Street came out first. On Every Street is the story how Ellie became how she is, a Con Artist. I loved how Ellie the Heroine is a Con Artist as I never read the main character to be this. She has a huge problem as she is falling in love with Javier who is her mark and her in to get to the bad guy she wants to hurt badly for hurting her when she was young. She needs to do this so she can put this all behind her, but she never thought that she would fall in love while trying to get her revenge. I loved her character and thought she was strong will to go to the extreme to get her revenge especially after living with Con Artist Parents. Kudos to Karina Halle for giving just enough detail on her past, training time with Gus (her parents good friend) on training her to be a good Con Artist and leading up to moment she meets her mark Javier. 

I want to take sexy-tattoo-hero- Javier home and have my wicked way with him. I found it amazing how this criminal, who has no problem killing some one in cold blood, be a sweet and caring person to Ellie.
 
"I need you, my angel. And I'll do anything and everything to keep you."

I loved how he could tell she was broken on the inside and had no idea what made her broken but he wanted to be the one to fix her.
 
"Why am I good to you?" he repeated, his lips brushing against mine as he spoke. "Because I can see you are broken. And I want nothing more than to put you back together."
 
Their chemistry is hot right from the beginning. The sexual tension got me hot and bothered. I was not a huge fan of how the first sex scene was done, especially how she is a virgin. The first sex scene is still hot and got my girly bits tingly but it is a mild BDSM and felt since she was a virgin it should of been done with out BDSM. I love a dominate hero in and out of the bedroom and Javier is for sure a yummy dominate hero. Karina Halle nails Javier dominate character. I for sure needed a cold shower especially after the beach scene. I felt like I was right there with Ellie doing what he told her to do during their foreplay. 

Payday can not get here sooner as I need to know how Ellie’s life will turn out after On Every Street with Sins & Needles. Things are unanswered and unresolved and hope it plays a role in the rest of the series. I felt like things are not what they seem to be as in the little surprise Karina Halle threw was not 100% solved. My heart is still broken after reading this and I need closer. Please Karina Halle not let this be how it ends for Ellie and Javier.

How did Ellie Watt become Eden White?? How the heck did she end up with Javier?? What made her finally escape him??

I love that author Karina Halle answered all of these questions and so many more in this prequel to "Sins & Needles".

Much to my surprise, I found myself warming up to Ellie...she wasn't as heartless and cold as I originally thought. There is more behind the mask.

We also learned who Javier really was. He may have come from a tortured past, but his controlling, obsessive ways became more and more disturbing. Eden is trapped....Javier will look for her..."On Every Street". He has stained her.

I am firmly planted on Team Camden!!!

Omg talk about leaving you hanging. I wanted to see if Javier caught up with Ellie and I wanted to know why he cheated. But I really love this emotional roller coaster that you are put on in the short novel. It's a great start to the series. I was wondering if Ellie was going to come to her senses and realize that she had a mission to complete a d it let Javier get in her way. Oh the make up sex LAWD help me that was the greatest and I thought we were going to have a fifty shades moment when she was deflowered..lol. All in all I loved this
