I was intrigued by the fact the BJ Novak was a writer and that he was a writer of short fiction. I enjoy short stories and I enjoyed his character on the office so I felt this had to have a look at.

About three quarters of the stories here are hilarious, some are very interesting, and only a small handful are nothing special. Overall this is came across as someone who had taken the social commentary from internal dialogues with ourselves and transcribed them and added celebraty narrators to provide extra emphasis.

Hilarious, sometimes thought prevoking, and ultimately a quick read that most will enjoy.

One More Thing is a real rollercoaster ride—or an entire amusement park.

Brilliant. B.J. Novak can do so much with so few words.

Droll is the word that most comes to mind with this collection of short stories. Clever enough but nothing really grabbled me.

A collection of short stories by a writer best known for his work on the television series "The Office," including the title story in which a boy's sweepstakes win proves more harm than good for his family.

I really enjoyed B.J. Novak's sense of humor. It's kind of dark, quirky, weird - which is also why I like The Office and The Mindy Project so much. I listened to the audiobook version and very much enjoyed the performances by BJ, Rainn Wilson, Mindy Kaling, Lena Dunham and Jena Fischer. I will probably be listening to this again!

Quick read with more than a couple guffaws and only one cringes.

In general, I'm not a big fan of short stories. However, I am a big fan of BJ Novak and thought I would give this book a try. I was glad I did. The book is comprised of mostly 3-5 page stories with some 1 page stories, and a few 20 page stories thrown in there. Most of the stories are tongue in cheek and offer a humorous criticism to our modern world. The stories are easy to read and there were multiple times I found my self laughing at them.

1* didn't like/possibly not finished

I wanted to love this book, but the more I read it the more I couldn't relate at all to it. I thumbed through and read a few of the stories but in the end closed it up. DNF.

My Ratings:

5*****I loved this book, consider it an all time favorite
4**** Thoroughly enjoyed the book and will recommend it
3*** I liked it well enough,
2** Brain Candy - It was okay. Writing mediocre, will
keep/re-read if part of a series

A boy wins $100,000 in a box of Frosted Flakes - only to discover that claiming the winnings may unravel his family. An acclaimed ambulance driver seeks the courage to follow his heart and throw it all away to be a singer-songwriter. A school principal unveils a bold plan to permanently abolish arithmetic. A new arrival in heaven, overwhelmed by infinite options, procrastinates over his long-ago promise to visit his grandmother. We meet a vengeance-minded hare. We learn why wearing a red T-shirt is the key to finding love; how February got its name; and why the stock market is sometimes just . . . down. Finding inspiration in questions from the nature of perfection to the icing on carrot cake, from the deeply familiar to the intoxicatingly imaginative, ONE MORE THING finds its heart in the most human of phenomena: love, fear, family, ambition, and the inner stirring for the one elusive element that might make a person complete. The stories in this collection are like nothing else, but they have one thing in common: they share the playful humour, deep heart, inquisitive mind, and altogether electrifying spirit of a writer with a fierce devotion to the entertainment of the reader.
