The third book in the House of night series.

Mixed feelings about this one. Some weird shit really, student teacher relationship, ZOEY HAVING 3 BOYFRIENDS? It was all a bit weird.

Don’t get me wrong there was some elements I did like but definitely the negatives outweighed the positives on this one...though the first half was better than the 2nd!

I’ll probably end up reading the other ones I own, just to get them off my tbr, bc it’s not a horrible series, it’s just mediocre. They’re pretty quick to read though so that’s a benefit

Overall though, the book was an easy read but i did not particularly like the writing style. It could use some improvements.

Zoey is dealing with some winter/holiday funk and depression. Having to keep so many things hidden to herself it really makes the reader sympathize with her at times. From missing her best friend to having yet another argument with her mother- Zoey really has that teen angst, but it is understandable at the same time. It is a good thing she has her grandmother that completely understands and loves her for who she is.
She is also coming to the very serious and harsh reality that people are not all they seem to be upon first glance. Enemies become friends and vice versa.A lot of things happen in this one that leaves the reader staring at the book in shock. From deaths to surprises, a lot happens to keep a reader entertained and turning the page
