It's been a long time since the ending of a book has left this much of an emotional impact. I had to wait to type up this review I was shaking so badly and my heart's still pounding.
I love the dystopian utopia trope and Candor is no exception. But while in other books it's unnerving how people can consider these things normal Candor is disturbing because no one is able to think it's abnormal. 
Oscar's dad is a disturbing villain, yes he counts as a villain, but a subtle one who embodies everything I hate. A control freak with no regard for the feelings or freewill or even safety of others. 
My only question is why did Oscar's mom leave him behind? If she knew what sort of man her husband was or what he was doing to them why did she leave her only living child? That's my only problem with the book and seeing how Oscar never finds out I guess it makes sense we the reader don't either.
