Written by Pamela Crane, this book reminded me of Twilight. Shall I explain?

First, this is an interesting premise. A girl has a heart transplant and 22 years later starts to re-live memories that the original owner of the heart experienced before she died. Now on to the nitty-gritty.

Second, Mia is a terrible character. Shallow, underdeveloped, and acts like a teenager, not a 34 year old. 

Third, The writing style REMINDS ME OF TWILIGHT. Seriously. Only their reactions are more believable in Twilight. This book screams young adult. Its actual genre is Fiction - General - Thriller, not young adult.

The banter is not to my taste. I started questioning finishing this book by page 60. I finished it only because someone gave it to me as a gift. Not the worst book I have read, but it should be a young adult.

I do not recommend this book. 2 stars only because I have read worse.

I am going to start this review off with something that I almost never do (I can count on my hand how many times I have done this). I am absolutely in love with the cover. I don’t know why but it really caught my eye and I will just stare at it. I think because it is so simple (a girl hugging herself in black and white with a black splash of something across her back).

Now that I am done drooling over the cover, let’s get this review going.

Mia grew on me during this book. When I first started reading it, I thought she was a little self-centered, impulsive and very hung up on how her scar looked. But, as the book progressed and the deeper she got into her seach on who killed Alexis, she evolved. She became this person who was the opposite of what I said above and the end of the book, well, let’s just say that forgiveness is everything.

The mystery surrounding the killer was great and the author threw out red herrings left and right. When it was revealed who the killer (and the serial killer) was, I was genuinely shocked and then saddened.

I found organ memory fascinating and plan on doing a little more research on it. Just the thought of an organ retaining memory intrigues me.

The end of the book (and the epilogue) was absolutely great and made me have tears in my eyes. I do hope that there will be a book 2.
